Tochi Chukwuani set for Rangers field day vs Hearts amid latest injury news

Tochi Chukwuani will be delighted at the latest news to have come from Hearts.

Rangers welcome Hearts to Ibrox this weekend, in what has the potential to be the biggest game of the season in the race for the title.

Ahead of the game, just five points separate the Gers from Hearts at the top of the table, though that could be reduced to just two if Danny Rohl can lead his side to victory.

And if Rangers are to achieve victory at Ibrox this weekend, they will need Chukwuani to be at his best again, and with one key player set to miss the clash, he will be optimistic of doing so.

Cameron Devlin remains rules out for Hearts

Hearts have had a fantastic season, though a lot of that has undoubtedly been down to the regression at both Rangers and Celtic.

It’s certainly the Gers who look the most likely to catch up, and with Cameron Devlin set to miss the clash at Ibrox, their hopes of securing all three points will have been boosted.

The 27-year-old was influential in the reverse fixture back in December, though that was against a Rangers midfield lacking much aggression and physicality.

Chukwuani’s winter arrival at Glasgow has completely changed the dynamic of Rohl‘s midfield, and certainly in a good way.

There’s a case to be made that the Dane was not at his best in the previous clash with Motherwell, but a game against a Hearts side with a weakened midfield will certainly give him the chance to rediscover that form.

Which Rangers players are due to miss Hearts clash?

Rohl has several injury concerns of his own ahead of the encounter at Ibrox, but none that were particularly surprising.

Connor Barron remains sidelined after the knee injury sustained at the start of January, while the likes of Derek Cornelius, Max Aarons and Bailey Rice are all injured.

Aarons is arguably the biggest miss there, having made 17 appearances for the Light Blues in the Scottish Premiership so far this season.

His injury was first believed to be a short-term one, though fears are slowly starting to increase in that regard.
