Rangers ‘got what they deserved’ as Chris Sutton fires post-Motherwell dig
Chris Sutton could not help himself after Rangers’ 1-1 draw with Motherwell on Wednesday.
Danny Rohl‘s side fell further behind in the Scottish Premiership title race after a late Stephen Welsh strike on 11 February.
The Ibrox side have 12 matches to catch Hearts at the top of the table, and they cannot afford to drop many more points if they are to succeed.
Sutton, as a former Celtic player, was loving the fact that the Gers conceded an equaliser in such heartbreaking fashion at Fir Park.

What did Chris Sutton say about Rangers draw with Motherwell?
Sutton constantly winds up Light Blues supporters on social media or when he is on broadcast duties, and he took great pleasure in twisting the knife after the latest setback.
The 52-year-old claimed that the Govan outfit got what they deserved from the contest, given the way that they approached the game.
Taking to X on 11 February, he said: “Without stirring after Rangers time wasting tactics this evening some may say they got what they deserved.”
Why Sutton is actually right this time
Gers fans will not want to hear it, but Sutton is spot on this time, with his dig at Rohl’s side, and he is not just being a bitter Celtic supporter.
They simply did not create enough, and did not do enough to win the contest, and steal a march on the unlikely league leaders.
The Bears were outpossessed, with the hosts having 63 per cent of the ball, compared to their 37 per cent.
They also only created 10 shots in the contest, with Jens Berthal Askou’s side having 18 efforts at Jack Butland’s goal.
The hosts also had five shots on target, compared to just four for Rohl’s side, which is dismal for a side that is challenging for the championship.
The Steelmen also come out on top for touches in the opposition box (31 to 15) and passes in the final third (117 to 80), showing that they deserved a point, if not more, from the clash.
Unfortunately, Sutton has a point on this occasion, and it seems like he is not just trying to ragebait supporters from the opposite side of Glasgow.
Rohl needs to turn in around quickly, or his side will be left reeling at the end of the campaign, without the title.
