Youssef Chermiti will fear what Danny Rohl witnessed in Rangers’ win over Queen’s Park
Rangers’ 8-0 demolition of Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup on Sunday gave Danny Rohl plenty to think about.
Many will downplay the scoreline and say it was a reflection of the difference in quality between the two sides, and while it may be true, the Bears didn’t treat it like an exhibition match.
Many players were out to give their best impression to Rohl, as the German boss watched his side ease into the Quarter-finals of the competition.
Rangers are pushing for the Scottish Premiership title, and Rohl will need to figure out his best eleven after a crazy winter market.
Unfortunately for Youssef Chermiti, his playing chances have only been harmed after the evidence seen in Rangers’ big win over Queen’s Park.

Youssef Chermiti will fear dropping down pecking order at Rangers
Chermiti was absent from the squad to face Queen’s Park in what was most likely a rest for the striker, who seems to be recovering from a minor knock.
Although he could return to play for Rangers in the midweek clash against Motherwell on Wednesday, one bad performance could change the whole picture for the 21-year-old.
- Chermiti has scored four goals in 17 league games for the Gers
- He hasn’t scored since his brace against Celtic at the start of January
Ryan Naderi was on fire against Queen’s Park, bagging a brace of headers on what was his full debut for the Gers.
Bojan Miovski also got himself on the scoresheet, impressing over the full 90 minutes of the game, and has now scored two goals in as many matches.

Both Naderi and Miovski started the match as a forward pairing, something which Rohl hasn’t opted for so far at Ibrox.
However, the German head coach may have found this to be a revelation, and something that he can utilise for the Bears moving forward.
What Ryan Naderi and Bojan Miovski offer that Chermiti does not
There was lots to be impressed by from multiple Rangers players against Queen’s Park. Albeit they were playing against lesser opposition, the fixture always seemed to be a potential banana skin for the Bears.
Naderi grabbed the headline for his goals, but it was his movement that was causing carnage in Queen’s Park’s box. He was always looking to get on the end of crosses, and even had success when linking play from deep.
Miovski has shown signs of his former clinical self from time with Aberdeen, and now looks to be every bit of the £2.6million signing that the Gers were hoping to see when bringing him to Ibrox in the summer.
Chermiti usually needs three or four big chances for every one that he sticks away, and although he has a physical presence that can help Rohl, the Rangers boss won’t be patient in this final stretch of the season.
The number nine still has time, but competition is rife, and he’ll need to come back with a bang when fit again.
