Rangers star Djeidi Gassama sends message as late transfer confirmed out-of-window

Rangers completed plenty of business in the January transfer window.

The Gers moved to improve their squad throughout the winter, and it appears to have worked after Rangers won 8-0 against Queens Park on Sunday.

Danny Rohl saw one of his main targets, Ryan Naderi, bag a brace against Queens Park, while Tochi Chukwuani also got on the scoresheet.

Exits were also on the cards throughout the month as Danilo secured a loan switch to NEC Nijmegen, while Joe Rothwell departed for Sheffield United.

Business has continued elsewhere even after the January window closed, with Djeidi Gassama taking to social media after the latest deal.

Djeidi Gassama reacts as loan move confirmed

Gassama was central to interest away from Rangers in the winter as Villarreal showcased an interest in his signature.

The LaLiga side were linked to the winger after his 10-goal involvements since moving to Ibrox from Sheffield Wednesday in the summer.

Rohl has moved to add further reinforcements to forward areas in the past month, with Jonas Skov Olsen coming in to compete with the 22-year-old.

That only makes the Light Blues stronger, so keeping hold of the Frenchman looks destined to be a wise move in Govan.

Gassama hasn’t turned his attention away from transfers entirely, with the attacker taking to Instagram after Yann Valery signed for Young Boys on loan.

The Swiss Super League side confirmed the deal on Monday, with the Rangers man sharing the announcement to his story with two starry-eyed emojis.

Gassama could complete Rangers exit in the summer

It feels as if Gassama has been an example of positive recruitment after many years of transfer failures for the Govan outfit.

The former Paris Saint-Germain youngster has done particularly well in European competition, so it is no surprise that interest has emerged from elsewhere.

Should Villarreal come knocking again in the summer and make a serious offer, there is every chance that the Gers will agree a move.

That would likely suit Gassama, who may see a switch to the Yellow Submarine as the perfect opportunity to break into the top end of European football.

He could join his former teammate from Sheffield Wednesday, Valery, in making a move away from Hillsborough in the coming months.
