Rangers fans have major dilemma with ‘remarkable’ star after 8-0 win vs Queen’s Park
Rangers were dominant all around the pitch in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup against Queen’s Park on Sunday.
Sean Crighton’s team travelled to Ibrox on 8 February, but the Gers were just too good for the William Hill Championship side in the 8-0 victory.
Tochi Chukwuani was magnificent against Queen’s Park, getting the final goal of the game after some impressive link-up play with Thelo Aasgaard.
James Tavernier, Ryan Naderi and Bojan Miovski were the other goalscorers for the Glaswegian outfit in what was a comfortable evening for the hosts.
James Tavernier hat-trick gives Rangers fans a lot to think about
James Tavernier initially wasn’t supposed to start against Queen’s Park, but had to be called upon due to Max Aarons’ unavailability.
The 34-year-old ended up bagging a hat-trick and an assist at Ibrox as he starred at right-back and centre-back for the Gers.
With three goals in the Scottish Cup’s fifth round, the Englishman has now taken his goal tally to 13 in all competitions for the Glaswegian outfit this season, which is undoubtedly exceptional.
Speaking on BBC Sportsound on 8 February, Callum Davidson said, “It’s remarkable for a right-back, isn’t it [13 goals this season]? It’s remarkable what he has contributed, especially on the attacking side for Rangers.”

The massive dilemma now on the table for the Light Blues is whether they should extend Tavernier’s stay in Govan.
With the veteran defender’s contract expiring at the end of the season, fans are likely facing a major predicament, as a significant portion of supporters have been calling for his departure for some time now.
Danny Rohl has double contract uncertainty at Ibrox
Tavernier isn’t the only player whose contract expires soon at Ibrox, with the captain now in line for a testimonial.
Liam Kelly didn’t have much to do as he started for Rangers in the 8-0 victory, and it remains to be seen whether the 30-year-old Scotland international will want to extend his stay in Govan.
John Souttar is also in the final months of his deal at the Gers, and it would be wise for them to secure the 29-year-old centre-back’s future beyond the current campaign.
Rohl has to deal with several issues within the squad while navigating the William Hill Premiership title race, and only time will tell what the future holds for the soon-to-be out-of-contract trio in G51.
