Rangers fans will be thrilled after Danny Rohl’s team news decision for Queen’s Park clash

Danny Rohl has made some big changes to his starting lineup for Sunday’s fifth-round Scottish Cup clash against Queen’s Park.

The Scottish Cup is a great way for Rohl to get his hands on a trophy in Govan, and Rangers won 5-0 against Annan Athletic in the fourth round on 16 January.

Queen’s Park sit bottom of the Scottish Championship, and lost their most recent match 1-0 at home to Ross County.

Rohl has viewed this match as a good opportunity to rotate his side, making seven changes and handing Ryan Naderi and Tuur Rommens their full debuts.

Ryan Naderi starts , Danny Rohl makes seven changes

Rangers reached an agreement to sign Naderi for £5.2million from Hansa Rostock on deadline day.

The transfer is the most expensive sale in the history of Germany’s third tier, and it was clear that Rohl wanted to do whatever was possible to bring the 22-year-old to G51.

Naderi showcased his quality against Kilmarnock on Wednesday when he replaced Thelo Aasgaard in the 60th minute to make his debut.

With Bojan Miovski and Youssef Chermiti also fighting to be the main striker, the German has a perfect chance to impress his manager with a convincing performance against the Championship side.

Fans will be excited to see their new man start from the off, and he’ll be relishing the opportunity to score his first goal at Ibrox.

As for all of the changes, Liam Kelly, Dujon Sterling, Rommens, Tochi Chukwuani, Andreas Skov Olsen, Oliver Antman, and Naderi come in for Jack Butland, John Souttar, Jayden Meghoma, Nico Raskin, Thelo Aasgaard, Djeidi Gassama and Mikey Moore.

Supporters will also be pleased to see that Rommens is given his first start after his cameo in midweek.

Tuur Rommens can impress Rangers fans even more vs Queen’s Park

Rommens joined Rangers from Belgian side Westerlo for £2.6m, with another £500,000 due in performance-related add-ons.

Although he had to wait a couple of weeks before appearing for Rangers, he certainly made a positive impression on the Ibrox faithful.

The Sofascore graphic below shows that Rommens was very impressive against Kilmarnock, and Rohl is starting him in the cup to help him reach full fitness.

While it’s unfortunate for Meghoma, Rohl clearly values the Belgian left-back’s attacking prowess, and he could cause some real problems out wide.

Rangers fans have already seen a glimpse of Rommens’ potential, and like Naderi, he’ll be eyeing up the prospect of getting on the scoresheet and impressing Rohl.
