James Tavernier was not meant to start for Rangers vs Queen’s Park – This is why
James Tavernier continued his incredible scoring record for Rangers against Queen’s Park on Sunday afternoon at Ibrox.
Rangers beat Queen’s Park 8-0 in the Scottish Cup to banish any nightmare memories of last season’s defeat in the same competition.
Tavernier grabbed a hat-trick in the win, with his corner dropped into the net by Calum Ferrie, who had an afternoon to forget in Govan.
He also grabbed two assists in a game where he wasn’t even meant to play.

Danny Rohl was delighted with his captain after the game, praising his shape and how much he can trust him, no matter the situation.
Max Aarons was meant to get the nod, but the head coach confirmed that he wasn’t available in the end.
David Edgar shared the news through the Heart and Hand Podcast after attending the post-match press conference at Ibrox.
What has happened to Max Aarons at Rangers?
Aarons has not enjoyed a good time of things at Ibrox.
Signed under Russell Martin, Aarons was sent off in the Champions League versus Club Brugge, and that wasn’t
Although things have improved slightly, there is certainly no future in Glasgow once his loan spell from Bournemouth finishes at the end of the season.

With Tavernier still firing on all cylinders despite less game time, Aarons’ numbers are nowhere near good enough from what we expect.
Tavernier is also someone who could leave at the end of the season, with speculation rife yet again.
Rangers are now set for a huge couple of games in the Scottish Premiership, and it looks as though their skipper will play a pivotal role in both of them.
First up is a trip to Motherwell, who have been sensational at Fir Park this season, but another win could take the Bears level with Hearts.
Then the league leaders come to Ibrox on 15 February, where top spot could be there for the taking, something that nobody would have believed when Rohl arrived.
Rohl and Tavernier are making that possible, with everybody dreaming once again of another Scottish Premiership title.
