‘Andrew Cavenagh put his money where his mouth is’ as £12m Rangers claim made in newspaper
Rangers now have a real chance of winning the Scottish Premiership title this season.
Danny Rohl’s side are on a superb run of form, having won nine of their last 11 games in the league.
Rangers beat Kilmarnock 5-1 on Wednesday evening to move up into second place, and within three points of table-topping Hearts.
Their chances of claiming a first Scottish Premiership crown have had a big boost over the past month as well, following a busy winter transfer window.

Andrew Cavenagh feels Rangers title is there for taking
Going into January, it was clear that Rangers needed to reinforce their squad in order to launch a real challenge for the Scottish Premiership title.
Rohl had managed to deal with limited resources following his arrival earlier in the season, but he still had a lack of quality at his disposal.
Rangers signed Ryan Naderi, Tuur Rommens, and Tochi Chukwuani on permanent deals, as well as bringing in Andreas Skov Olsen on an initial loan with an option to buy.
According to Gary Keown in the Scottish Mail on Sunday, the Glasgow outfit have forked out over £12million on incomings since the beginning of January. He called it a “big, big outlay for the January market”.
Keown added that owner “Andrew Cavenagh put his money where his mouth is”, as he clearly feels that the title is there for the taking.
Both Hearts and Celtic have stumbled in recent weeks and are showing signs of weakness, which Rangers should be able to capitalise on.
Rangers fighting on multiple fronts
As well as fighting at the top of the Premiership, Rangers are also hoping to bring home another piece of silverware in the Scottish Cup.
Rohl’s side dispatched Annan Athletic 5-0 in the previous round, and have now reached the last 16 of the competition.
Rangers face Queen’s Park on Sunday afternoon for a place in the quarter-finals, hoping to dispel some demons from 12 months ago.
At the exact same stage of the Scottish Cup last season, the Gers were beaten 1-0 by the Championship outfit in what was a shock result.
The likes of Naderi and Rommens could be in line for their first starts, as Rangers aim to avoid a second cup upset in two years.
