Tuur Rommens gets full debut as Ryan Naderi call made – Rangers predicted XI vs Queen’s Park

Rangers take on Queen’s Park at Ibrox in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup on Sunday.

Kilmarnock came to Ibrox and lost 5-1 at Ibrox on Wednesday, and Rohl is certainly getting a tune out of his squad.

The Scottish Cup is up for grabs this season, and the Light Blues eased to a 5-0 win over Annan Athletic in the fourth round on 16 January.

Their next opponents, Queen’s Park, sit bottom of the Scottish Championship, and lost their most recent league match 1-0 at home to Ross County.

Rohl will view this as a good opportunity to rotate, and could give Tuur Rommens his full debut as one of seven changes that he makes to the starting lineup.

Tuur Rommens to replace Jayden Meghoma as Danny Rohl heavily rotates

Rommens joined Rangers from Belgian side Westerlo for an initial £2.6million fee, with another £500,000 due in performance-related add-ons.

The Belgian left-back made his first appearance on Wednesday, but he is yet to start a game for the Bears.

As shown by the Sofascore graphic below, Rommens was very impressive against Kilmarnock and Rohl may start him in the cup to help him reach full fitness.

As a result, the 22-year-old would replace Jayden Meghoma, and he looks ready for his full debut in front of the Ibrox faithful.

Thelo Aasgaard has been very poor recently, and Tochi Chukwuani could come in as a result, meaning Nico Raskin would play further forward.

Jack Butland is expected to drop out of the team for Liam Kelly, while Max Aarons is likely to step in for James Tavernier.

Mikey Moore, Djeidi Gassama and Bojan Miovski could all drop out for Oliver Antman, Youssef Chermiti, and Andreas Skov Olsen.

Ryan Naderi is in contention, although it feels as if Chermiti will be given the nod due to the quality of the opposition.

Liam Kelly will be given a huge opportunity to impress

Butland has certainly been one of Rangers‘ best players this season, but he shouldn’t be exempt from criticism.

Against Kilmarnock, he fluffed his attempt at a clearance, which allowed Greg Kiltie to score a consolation goal for the visitors.

He’ll now drop down to the bench due to Kelly’s role as the cup goalkeeper, and it’s not great timing for the English shot-stopper.

Against a Queen’s Park side that won’t offer much in attack, Kelly can impress Rohl by keeping the ball well in possession.

While it’ll take a lot to displace Butland as a starter, the most the 30-year-old can do is plant a seed of doubt in Rohl’s mind.

And he certainly won’t get many better opportunities to do so than on Sunday.
