Rangers fans blasted as ‘out of order’ after Danny Rohl latest at Ibrox
Danny Rohl deserves to be backed by Rangers fans as he continues to close the gap at the top of the William Hill Premiership table.
Ibrox hosted Kilmarnock in the league on 4 February, with the Gers taking three valuable points after a 5-1 victory.
Rohl took advantage of Hearts’ loss to St Mirren, and the Light Blues are now just three points behind the Jam Tarts.
It was highly improbable to see the Glaswegian outfit getting anywhere near the top of the table after their abysmal start to the season under Russell Martin, but the German manager has changed the tide in Govan.
Rangers fans called out for booing Danny Rohl vs Kilmarnock
James Tavernier gave the Gers an early lead against Kilmarnock through a penalty, but their overall performance in the first half was arguably underwhelming.
At half-time, the Ibrox faithful booed the Light Blues as the two teams walked to the tunnel, which surely wouldn’t have been pleasing for Rohl.
While the supporters’ expression of discontent may have worked with the Glaswegian outfit scoring four goals after the break, Rohl certainly deserves a bit more grace from the fanbase.
Speaking on Open Goal on 5 February, James McFadden said, “Obviously, Rohl’s done a brilliant job, but there was a wee bit of booing at half-time,” to which Si Ferry responded, “That’s out of order.”
Rohl has reignited hopes of winning the title at Ibrox, and the former Sheffield Wednesday boss must be credited for the brilliant turnaround.
The German manager has lost just one league game since taking over at the Govan side, underscoring the work he’s done despite initial doubts about his appointment.
Danny Rohl has clear undroppable star at Ibrox
Andreas Skov Olsen and Turr Rommens were impressive against Kilmarnock, with Ryan Naderi and Tochi Chukwuani also showcasing their quality under Rohl.
Rangers have added much-needed quality to their team in the winter transfer window, but Mikey Moore will still likely be their most important player this season.
The Tottenham loanee was pulling the strings up front for the Light Blues as Killie were unable to stop him.
Rohl made a clear error by dropping the 18-year-old to the bench in the 0-0 draw with Hibernian, and it would make sense to keep relying on the English youngster as one of the main players until the end of the campaign.
