Keith Jackson amazed by impossible Rangers prediction after latest twist

Rangers beat Kilmarnock in the William Hill Premiership on Wednesday to close the gap on Hearts.

Killie travelled to Ibrox on 4 February and were beaten 5-1 after an impressive second-half performance from the Gers.

On the other hand, Hearts lost 1-0 to St Mirren just hours before the Light Blues took the three points off Neil McCann’s team, making things interesting in the league table.

Celtic have a game in hand on the top two after their game against Aberdeen was postponed, and the title race is anyone’s to call at this point.

Rangers in for nervy William Hill Premiership title race

Keith Jackson believes it’s impossible to predict the winner of the William Hill Premiership right now.

The Daily Record journalist has placed his faith in Hearts this season, but their recent form has seen the Old Firm clubs close the gap with Derek McInnes’ team.

Danny Rohl did his job against Kilmarnock and got three valuable points, which will surely put more pressure on the Jam Tarts going forward.

Speaking on Hotline Live on 5 February, Jackson said, “This title is impossible to call. With each day, another twist. I’ve kind of lumped it on Hearts just now, and I lumped it on them before the game at Paisley, and then you’re sitting watching that, going, this is a spanner that’s been thrown in. Then you’re looking at Celtic going to Pittodrie and Rangers at home to Kilmarnock, how are they going to react to the back of this? Celtic’s match gets rained off, and that doesn’t help their position.”

The Ibrox side are three points behind Hearts right now and will be focusing on both remaining domestic competitions after being knocked out of the Europa League.

While Martin O’Neill has brought some stability back to Parkhead, toxicity around the Hoops remains due to their underwhelming transfer business, which will undoubtedly be an advantage for the Light Blues.

Danny Rohl to get Ibrox reality check soon

Rangers are continuing to keep pace with Hearts and made some impressive additions to their team in the winter transfer window.

The Gers had one of their worst starts to the season under Russell Martin, but Rohl has brought some consistency to the Govan side.

In the last 20 league matches, the Light Blues have lost once and racked up 14 wins, making a comeback once seen as impossible.

The Glaswegian outfit will face Hearts at Ibrox on 15 February, which will surely measure just how far they’ve come after making new signings and potentially deciding the winner of the William Hill Premiership at the end of the season.
