Djeidi Gassama bid clarified after astonishing Rangers development
Rangers should’ve accepted a bid for Djeidi Gassama in the winter transfer window.
Former player-turned-journalist Gordon Parks can’t believe the Gers might have turned down an offer for the former Sheffield Wednesday winger.
Monaco wanted Gassama on loan a few weeks ago, with the deal including an option to buy the French forward for £10million.
There were also claims of Fenerbahce wanting Youssef Chermiti, but those stories were dismissed.
Monaco bid for Djeidi Gassama at Rangers may not be true
Pater Martin doesn’t believe there was any truth to Monaco’s interest in Gassama.
Parks brought up the claims and was astonished that the Ibrox hierarchy turned down a significant offer for the 22-year-old.
However, those suggestions have been somewhat dismissed, with Martin declaring there may have been nothing to the noise around the Ligue 1 outfit’s move for the French youngster.
Speaking on PLZ Soccer on 6 February, Parks said, “I’m astonished they turned down a bid from Monaco for him,” to which Martin responded, “I’m not so sure that was there to be honest.”
It was surprising to hear the Ibrox hierarchy turn down a combined £23m for Gassama and Chermiti, but it seems like that was never on the table.
Considering the former Everton striker’s struggles at the Glaswegian outfit, they would be wise to snap up any offer worth more than what they paid for him.
Tam McManus having a laugh with William Hill Premiership title prediction
Rangers are back in the race for the William Hill Premiership, and anyone who suggests otherwise must be having a laugh.
The Gers are three points behind league leaders Hearts, with Celtic trailing three points behind their Old Firm rivals with a game in hand.

Speaking on PLZ Soccer, Tam McManus said, “The main thing for me in a tight title race is you want people who can handle pressure. And I’m not convinced Hearts will handle it, and I’m not convinced Rangers will handle it. I think Celtic have proven winners in the team, a proven manager and that will get them just over the line.”
There’s clear uncertainty at Parkhead, with fans not pleased with their transfer business over the last two windows and McManus’s belief that the Gers don’t have proven winners baffles, given Rohl can rely on James Tavernier and players with multiple international caps like John Souttar, Nicolas Raskin and Andreas Skov Olsen.
