Danilo permanent transfer on cards after realistic Rangers transfer fee development

NEC Nijmegen technical director Carlos Aalbers is confident about securing the permanent signing of Danilo from Rangers in the summer.

The Eredivisie outfit’s chief has revealed that they’re in control of what the future holds for the Brazilian striker, with an option to buy in his loan deal with the Gers.

Danilo moved to NEC on transfer deadline day after failing to make a case for himself at the Light Blues despite Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski’s struggles.

Danny Rohl signed Ryan Naderi from Hansa Rostock to bolster their number nine position, and the Glaswegian outfit have made the former Feyenoord forward’s permanent exit at the end of the season pragmatic.

Rangers loan deal includes realistic buy option for Danilo

Aalbers has revealed that the loan deal for Danilo includes a realistic fee to buy him.

It looks like the Gers have made several compromises in the winter transfer window to sanction the 26-year-old’s exit, and the Ibrox chiefs will surely hope the Dutch club will trigger the purchase option.

The Brazilian ace moved to the Light Blues in 2023, but fitness issues hampered his ability to become the first-choice option in the number nine position.

Speaking to Voetbal International on 5 February, Aalbers said, “On Monday, we already learned during the day that things would work out with Danilo. Rangers still needed to sign a striker, and they ultimately succeeded. We’re very happy that we secured a purchase option, which gives us control over the situation. It’s also a realistic transfer fee if we exercise the option. Danilo can play as a striker, but also behind the striker. I hope he can make his contribution soon.”

Naderi has arguably brought something different to Ibrox, but it remains to be seen whether he can live up to expectations in G51.

It felt like the right time for Danilo to leave the Glaswegian outfit, and fans in Govan will hope he can kickstart his career in the Netherlands.

Danny Rohl to be concerned about what happened vs Kilmarnock

Rangers beat Kilmarnock 5-1 in the William Hill Premiership on 4 February, but fans will undoubtedly have a few concerns about the performance.

James Tavernier gave the Gers the lead at Ibrox early on from the penalty spot, but their overall display in the opening 45 minutes was underwhelming.

Mikey Moore was one of the few players who stood out in the first half against Killie, but the German manager’s team talk at the break seems to have turned things around.

Rohl will certainly be concerned about the inconsistency from his team from the first half to the second, and if the Glaswegian outfit want to win the league title, they will have to aim for perfection until the end of the season.
