Rangers have a really big problem with Jack Butland, here’s the situation
Jack Butland hasn’t always covered himself in glory at Rangers.
Butland may have had some star Rangers moments, but his constant errors are continuing to grate on the Ibrox faithful.
Earlier this campaign, Butland was branded as “rubbish” at Rangers after he aimed fury towards his teammates after a mistake of his own.
That didn’t improve as Rangers secured a 5-1 win against Kilmarnock on Wednesday as the keeper threw away a clean sheet with a shocking mistake.
Danny Rohl is continuing to turn the tide in Govan, but issues surrounding Butland are only likely to grow.

Jack Butland in new howler vs Kilmarnock
New signing Ryan Naderi looked good against Kilmarnock, but the same sort of compliment can’t really be aimed towards the Gers’ keeper.
The 32-year-old only faced two shots on target, but conceded one off the back of a shocking moment where he laid the ball on a plate for Greg Kiltie.
He took a wild swing at the ball, miscued entirely and ultimately afforded the attacking midfielder the easiest goal he’ll ever score.
Outside of that, Butland also failed to register a single high claim, punch, or diving save, summing up his lack of presence in between the sticks on the night.
That isn’t unusual based on his form this campaign, with plenty of clangers being dropped by the keeper in a series of frustrating moments in Govan.
Butland has let himself down at Rangers this season
The Light Blues may have secured a 5-1 win against Kilmarnock, but the fans won’t forget Butland’s error for a while.
To throw away a clean sheet by nearly kicking the ball into his own net is wild, but it says a lot that it isn’t even out of character.
As showcased by Sofascore, there are so many areas of his game that have been shocking this campaign and require serious improvement.

His constant errors leading to goals and shots is causing problems, especially while conceding 1.14 goals per game this season.
All this is hugely unfortunate based on how good he has been previously for the Gers over the years.
There will be hope he can get back to that level across the rest of the season, something which will continue to raise questions of his Ibrox future.
Rangers could cash in on Butland next summer
When the summer comes along, the ex-England international could be out the Rangers team or could be coming off the back of a much-improved campaign.
It will make for an interesting situation regardless as the keeper will enter the final year of his contract once this season ends.

That will ultimately give Rohl and Co. a decision to make over whether to cash in on the then 33-year-old or hand him a new deal and trust him to perform.
Any funds from a sale could start the search for a younger alternative who can serve the Ibrox club for many years to come.
The call will ultimately down to Rohl and his team, but gives Butland encouragement to go on and have a better second half of the season.
