Rangers’ internal expectation on Ryan Naderi emerges ahead of debut vs Kilmarnock

Ryan Naderi could make his Rangers debut on Wednesday, with fans eager to see their new £5.2million man in action.

Danny Rohl’s side hosts Kilmarnock at Ibrox, where the Bears will look to capitalise on league leaders Hearts dropping points on Tuesday.

Rangers reached an agreement with Hansa Rostock to sign Naderi on deadline day, as the German’s highly-anticipated arrival was confirmed just before the 11pm cut-off point.

Now, Rohl will be hoping for all his new signings to gel in the Bears’ push for success in the Scottish Premiership.

Chris Jack shares what will justify extra costs of Ryan Naderi transfer

Rangers initially had a £2.6million bid rejected for Naderi, as the deal at one point looked off, despite the forward’s willingness to come to Glasgow.

Thankfully for the Bears, when they later returned on Monday for him, Hansa Rostock had no choice but to accept Rangers’ package deal in the region of £5.2m for the German.

But the transfer has only materialised from Rangers practically doubling their initial offer for Naderi.

While writing for the Rangers Review, Chris Jack explained how the 49ers don’t expect Naderi to be the singular title-winning signing, but how there is still hope for him to return on investment.

Jack wrote: “Internally, Naderi is not being unfairly held up as the saviour of the season and the winner of the league.

“Does he offer optionality and an improvement on Danilo? The feeling at Ibrox is yes. The hope is that Naderi will play his part in a successful title challenge. If he does, the extra paid to Hansa right now will seem inconsequential.”

It won’t be long before Rangers fans can see Naderi play in blue and white, and if he were to start against Kilmarnock, it would prove his importance even more.

Why Naderi has high chance of flying Rangers start vs other winter arrivals

Rangers are yet to see new man Tuur Rommens in action with the left-back still recovering from a minor injury. The defender could make his debut this month, but Kilmarnock will come too soon for him.

Andreas Skov Olsen had been suffering from a lack of game time with Wolfsburg, hence his decision to come to Ibrox. He’s gotten off to a good start, but even Rohl would admit that the forward isn’t fully match fit yet.

However, Naderi has come to Glasgow in fine form.

Naderi’s league record for Hansa Rostock this season

Naderi played 90 minutes for Hansa Rostock on Saturday, as the 22-year-old’s form gives him every right to earn a starting spot from the off against Killie.

Tochi Chukwuani could give the striker a run for his money as being the best winter transfer, though, as the Dane has already gotten off to a flying start with promising performances.

Either way, Rohl is winning, and Naderi will only give the Rangers boss confidence that his team can do the unthinkable this campaign.
