Mikey Moore tipped for new Rangers agreement that will ‘excite the fans’
Alan Hutton wants to see Rangers strike another deal with Tottenham for Mikey Moore.
Signed on a season-long loan deal in this season’s summer transfer window, Moore, like many Rangers players under Russell Martin, endured a challenging first few months at Ibrox.
Having already made over 20 first-team appearances for Tottenham prior to his move to Glasgow, there was a real excitement among Gers supporters about this signing.
But, the England youth international had to wait until 9 November 2025 for his first Rangers goal against Dundee, having failed to cement a key role in the team at that stage.

However, Danny Rohl is now starting to get the best out of Moore in a Rangers shirt, and he’s fast becoming one of his key players.
With three goals and two assists to his name in 30 total appearances so far this season, there could still plenty to come from Moore in the remaining months of the campaign too.
Still only 18, it can also be easy to forget just how young and largely inexperienced Moore is at senior level, and even so, he’s now looking like a forward whose been playing at a top level for many years.
Given Moore’s familial links to Rangers too, he’s becoming a real fan favourite at Ibrox, with his impassioned performances earning him a place in the hearts of many Gers supporters.
And, speaking in an interview via the Sunday Mail newspaper, former Rangers defender Hutton is desperate to see Moore signed on for another stint in Glasgow beyond this season.
“I would like to see that happen (sign for Rangers again). He’s still definitely young enough that he can afford to go out on loan from Spurs for another season,” Hutton said.
“I felt for him at the beginning because he came with a lot of hype. There was a lot of pressure on his shoulders as a 17-year-old to come in and really fix a Rangers team that was struggling.
“We didn’t see the best of him. But recently he has really shown everybody what he’s capable of. He plays with a real freedom, an energy to go and excite the fans.”
What is Moore’s Tottenham contract situation?
Naturally, it’s not up to Rangers to decide whether Moore can return to Ibrox for a second term.
That will fall upon the decision-makers at Tottenham, where he is still very much in the long-term thinking regarding an eventual first-team role in N17.
However, time is on both Tottenham, and indeed Rangers’ side, as Moore is contracted to the North London outfit until 2030, having signed a long-term deal as recently as August 2025.
Therefore, Spurs will surely feel in no great rush to try and force Moore into a permanent first-team role before he’s truly ready, and will see the strides he’s taking in Rohl’s Rangers side.
As such, getting him back on loan for the 2026-27 season must be a deal that all parties would be interested in making.
