Danny Rohl left stumped at Rangers transfer situation after what Findlay Curtis did vs Porto
Danny Rohl has big decisions to make with a couple of Rangers stars before Monday’s transfer deadline, and particularly with Findlay Curtis.
The Bears have welcomed multiple new signings this window, and Rohl expects a striker to join before Monday’s 7.00 pm cut-off time.
Ryan Naderi and Joel Piroe are two names that could have been mentioned as potential incomings, but Rangers may also need to let some players go.
Rohl has suggested that Curtis could leave in recent weeks, with suitors in Scotland willing to take the winger from the Bears on loan until the end of the season.
However, the teenagers’ performance in Rangers‘ 3-1 loss to Porto stood out from everyone else in the German head coach’s side.
Findlay Curtis showing vs Porto gave Danny Rohl something to think about
Curtis blew people away with his display against Porto, despite the Gers ultimately losing from a winning position.
The young forward set Djeidi Gassama’s opening goal up, and it’s important to note that he did this against a top European side, despite seeing minimal game time this season.
- Curtis has managed just 194 minutes in the Scottish Premiership this season
- He has started just once in the league
As highlighted by Sofascore, the 19-year-old completed 100 per cent of his dribbles against Porto, and padded an impressive 7.1 rating.
If any side in Scotland were to pick up Curtis for the second half of the season, they would be getting their hands on a true gem.

However, there’s no guarantee that Gassama stays at Ibrox beyond Monday, and there may still be a need for Curtis come the end of the winter market.
Rohl needs to play his cards carefully, because at the same time, Curtis’ development is crucial for the Bears.
Rangers’ key positive vs Porto, apart from Curtis
The loss to Porto brings an eight game winning streak to a crashing end, and could be harmful for the Gers’ momentum.
However, the fact that Rangers are now out of the Europa League is key to their chances of winning the league title.

Rangers are closing in on Hearts, and they could just be about there once the window closes, if Rohl is to land a new striker.
But again, the importance of sanctioning the correct loan exits for promising prospects goes beyond the short-term success of the Bears.
