Rangers transfer state of play: Done deals and possible next incomings and outgoings

Rangers have had an incredibly productive winter transfer window.

Andreas Skov Olsen has been Rangers’ statement signing of the month so far after joining on loan from German outfit Wolfsburg.

Tochi Chukwuani and Tuur Rommens have also arrived in January, with Danny Rohl desperate to add depth to his midfield and left-back options.

As for the departures, Kieran Dowell has joined Hull City, Lyall Cameron has gone on loan to Aberdeen, and Oscar Cortes has moved to Huracan on loan, which includes an option to buy clause in the deal.

Ibrox News brings you all the players Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers may look to sell or sign before the transfer deadline on 2 February.

Who could Rangers sign before 2 February?

Ryan Naderi looks like the most likely player to join Rangers, and the Hansa Rostock striker has submitted a transfer request in order to move to Govan.

The Bears have had a £2.6million bid rejected for the 22-year-old, but an improved offer is expected as Rohl is incredibly keen on the striker.

Naderi is someone with a lot of impressive traits, and as interest in the youngster continues to increase across Europe, the Light Blues will hope to secure his services as soon as possible.

Another forward that has been touted to join Rangers is Barcelona’s Dani Rodriguez.

Having made his way through La Masia academy, the left-footed forward has mostly played for Barcelona B.

Although he has immense potential, it’s not a signing that would blow fans away due to his lack of experience in senior football.

However, Leeds striker Joel Piroe has been the subject of intense interest from Scotland.

Celtic tried to sign Piroe, although Leeds rejected the offer due to their ties with Rangers through the 49ers.

The Suriname international could now make his way to Ibrox as he continues to struggle for minutes in the Premier League.

Rangers are clearly targeting a number nine who can help ease the workload off Bojan Miovski and Youssef Chermiti, and Piroe would certainly offer them a different type of threat.

Several Rangers players could still be off

However, before a deal can be completed for a new striker, Rangers have to sell Danilo.

Danilo joined Rangers for £6million in July 2023, having notched 14 goals for Feyenoord the season before.

However, he has never shown a consistent run of goalscoring form, and Rohl clearly views him as the most dispensable forward at the club.

Joe Rothwell is another who will be allowed to leave Govan this month.

Signed under Russell Martin, he has failed to break into the starting lineup, and the addition of Chukwuani means he clearly doesn’t have a future at G51.

Rabbi Matondo is deemed surplus to requirements, and he has been the victim of several injury issues.

Norwich City are interested in the winger, meaning he could reunite with former Gers manager Philippe Clement.

Lastly, Findlay Curtis is expected to join Kilmarnock on loan to boost his development.

The deal was expected to be completed on 23 January, although Rohl may wish to keep the 19-year-old academy graduate after his impressive performances off the bench.

Curtis is clearly a big talent, and letting him go on loan would be the best for him on a personal level, although the German head coach may feel differently.
