Danny Rohl set to get his man as striker hands in transfer request to join Rangers
Danny Rohl has admitted he is eager for more Rangers signings before the winter transfer window closes, and he may soon be about to get his wish.
Rangers rejected bids for Youssef Chermiti and Djeidi Gassama this week in a serious statement of intent from the owners.
Those offers were worth a combined £23million and, on the face of it, seemed like more-than-fair bids from Fenerbahce and Monaco respectively.
Rather than sell first-team players, Rangers are instead actively looking to add to what Rohl already has available to him.
And right now, Ryan Naderi appears to be the player closest to arriving at Ibrox before Monday night’s deadline.

Ryan Naderi ramps up possible Hansa Rostock exit
Rangers had a £2.6million bid for Naderi rejected by Hansa Rostock earlier this week, despite that sum matching the German side’s valuation.
Had Rostock accepted – which they still might – it would have been a record selling fee for a German third-tier side.
While the Gers were unsuccessful with that bid, journalist Lukas Schulze reported via X on Wednesday that Naderi has filed a transfer request.
It is claimed by the TAG24 News reporter that Naderi wants to make the move to Ibrox, but Rostock are holding out for now.
The German side are said to be quietly scouting for a new striker in case Naderi does depart over the next four days.
What has Danny Rohl said about Naderi and other new signings?
Rohl was asked specifically about Rangers’ interest in Naderi at his pre-Porto press conference on Wednesday, but understandably did not want to go into details.
The German coach also said to strap in for a “crazy” conclusion to the window, with incomings and outgoings still possible.
And in an update that will no doubt go down well with Rangers, fans, Rohl added: “We spoke about wanting to strengthen our squad and not make it weaker. We are very clear about what we want to do.”
The message from Rohl is clear: Rangers are not looking to sell important players this month, but rather bring in more recruits such as Naderi.
And as highlighted by the Sofascore graphic below, Naderi is clearly someone who knows how to make an impact in the final third.

It may well be that players such as Danilo, Joe Rothwell and Rabbi Matondo need to be sold to help raise funds for any signings beyond Naderi.
Danilo surely accepts his time at Rangers is over, but time is ticking down for an exit to be concluded for the forward.
For now, Rangers’ focus is on completing a deal for Naderi and hopefully then offsetting any more arrivals with the exits of one or two duds.
