Simon Jordan left ‘surprised’ over Rangers developments as title race heats up at Ibrox
Rangers are now firmly in the hunt to win the Scottish Premiership title.
Danny Rohl has done an excellent job at Rangers since he was appointed by Andrew Cavenagh on 20 October 2025.
Rangers beat Dundee 3-0 at Ibrox on Sunday, with James Tavernier, Danilo, and Djeidi Gassama finding themselves on the scoresheet.
The Bears now sit four points behind league leaders Hearts, who drew 2-2 with Celtic at Tynecastle at the same time.
The three-horse race for the Scottish Premiership could go down to the wire, and Simon Jordan outlined who he thinks would win the title.

Simon Jordan predicts Celtic to win the league but remains impressed with Rangers
It mustn’t be forgotten that Rangers were in the bottom half of the table under Russell Martin at the start of the campaign.
Martin was sacked on 5 October, and the Bears have been on an upward trajectory ever since.
Speaking on talkSPORT on 26 January, Jordan was surprised that the Bears have looked the most impressive team in recent weeks, but he always backed Rohl to succeed in Govan.
He said: “I fear that Hearts won’t have the nous to get over the line. I am surprised that out of the two Old Firm clubs, Rangers are the ones that have emerged.
“However, I’m not surprised at Rohl steadying the ship and getting far more of a tune out of his players than his predecessor did.
“However, I still feel that Martin O’Neill will probably come to the fore, and Celtic will possibly hunt Hearts down.”
Hearts haven’t won the league since 1959-60, and the pressure could definitely get to them.

Why do Rangers hold an advantage in the title race?
That doesn’t mean that they will crumble, especially with Derek McInnes in charge.
However, the Old Firm clubs have shown in the past that they can go on prolonged winning runs.
What’s good for Rohl’s side is that their final meetings with both Hearts and Celtic before the division splits into two are both at Ibrox.

Rangers have also been knocked out of Europe, and they have a clear run of games until the end of season.
This gives them the best possible opportunity to beat their title rivals and establish a solid position at the top of the table.
Since Rohl’s appointment, Rangers have clearly been the best team in the league, and there is no other side with more momentum than them.
If you combine all these factors together, the Bears have a brilliant chance of winning their first Scottish Premiership title since 2020-21.
