Rangers flop Oscar Cortes reacts as loan agreement confirmed at Galatasaray

Oscar Cortes has taken to social media away from Rangers.

Cortes was forced to train alone at Sporting Gijon earlier in January as the Light Blues looked to find an exit route for the winger.

The Colombian’s spell in Spain was a complete failure after Cortes had left Rangers on a loan deal over the summer.

The 22-year-old made a return to Ibrox, but due to competition with Mikey Moore, Djeidi Gassama and Rangers’ new signing Robin Skov Olsen, a departure was given the green light.

Cortes has now taken to social media to share his reaction to a new January deal after a move was confirmed at Galatasaray.

Oscar Cortes reacts as Galatasaray deal done

Cortes never seemed to truly fit in at Rangers, whether that be on loan or after his permanent move to Govan last summer.

The one-cap Colombia international never hit the heights in the Scottish Premiership and only ever scored one goal in the division.

It was no surprise when the Gers decided to move him on before the current campaign, but things just didn’t work out in LaLiga2.

Danny Rohl clearly didn’t want him under his management in G51 and opted to move him on before the end of the January window.

With his exit already complete, Cortes is still looking out for former teammates, with the winger liking an Instagram post from his fellow countryman, Yaser Asprilla.

The duo have played five times together at various levels for the Colombia national team, so it was no shock that the Ibrox flop reacted after the winger moved to Galatasaray.

Aspirlla’s post read: “Always grateful to God for this new phase of my life.

Cortes continues to struggle at Huracan

The 22-year-old may be happy for his former colleagues, but he would do well to focus on improving his own performances.

Cortes now finds himself at Huracan in Argentina, but has made just one appearance since making his second loan switch of the campaign.

He started and lasted 71 minutes on his debut against Banfield and unsurprisingly failed to grab a goal or assist.

His three successful dribbles were the most on the pitch, but that is as good as it got for the winger, as his end product was once again lacking.

Rangers will have one eye on his progress in South America, but won’t have high hopes for his future in Govan.
