Rangers ready bid to sign Yan Valery after approach made for other Sheffield Wednesday star
Rangers have taken a fancy to Sheffield Wednesday’s Yan Valery ahead of the final 11 days of the winter window.
The Light Blues have been very active in January, having already sealed the arrivals of Tochi Chukwuani, Tuur Rommens and Andreas Skov Olsen.
However, in order to strengthen Rangers’ chances of winning the Scottish Premiership title, the 49ers are still looking at providing funds for more incoming business.
Now, the Gers have set their sights on Sheffield Wednesday and former Southampton defender Valery, with a bid now said to be ready.

Rangers want to sign two Sheffield Wednedsay defenders
Given Rohl’s connection with Sheffield Wednesday and the success that he found there in difficult circumstances, it comes as no surprise to see several stars linked with following him to Glasgow.
Rohl has already been reunited with Djeidi Gassama at Ibrox, with a report from Alex Miller now stating that the Light Blues are looking to do the same with Valery.
It’s claimed that Rangers are expected to make a bid to sign the right-back, who has been utilised in several positions throughout his career.
This comes just days after it was revealed that Rangers had also made an approach to sign Max Lowe.
Valery had been on international duty with Tunisia at AFCON, but has played 90 minutes in both of Sheffield Wednesday’s fixtures since his return.
Could this mean the end for James Tavernier?
As things stand, James Tavernier is set to leave Rangers at the end of the season, which is when his contract expires at Ibrox.
The 34-year-old has remained a constant in this Rangers side under Rohl, even after the return of Dujon Sterling.
Valery, especially given the fact that he is eight-years younger than Tavernier, could be an excellent replacement for the long-term, and Rohl, of course, knows plenty about him from his time at Hillsborough.
The Tunisia international was a regular under the German in the Championship, and was often seen as one of tbe better-perofmring players in a side that often lacked quality.
Whether a bid comes to fruition remains to be seen, with an update expected in the coming days.
