Tam McManus applauds player for what he did instantly after Rangers links

Danny Rohl’s desire to sign a striker this month is no secret.

Rangers are looking to sign a new centre-forward before the window shuts, but have so far drawn a blank in their pursuit of one.

Damir Redzic has been strongly linked with Rangers, but whilst the Hungarian can operate as a striker, his best and natural position is as a right-winger.

Elsewhere, Rohl has been finding more success in the market, with Rangers signing midfielder Tochi Chukwuani, whilst left-back Tuur Rommens has also completed a move to Ibrox.

Tam McManus reveals why he’s ‘so impressed’ by Kieron Bowie amid Rangers talk

Hibernian star Kieron Bowie is a player Rangers are interested in signing, but the Gers know that any deal won’t come cheap for the 23-year-old striker.

Bowie has been in excellent form for Hibs this season, and is well on his way to punching his plane ticket as part of Scotland’s 2026 World Cup squad.

Writing in his Daily Record column on Friday, former Hibernian striker Tam McManus has revealed exactly why he was struck by Bowie’s performance against Motherwell on 10 January amid talk of a move to Ibrox.

“But the fact I know how easy it can be for a player to let transfer talk impact their game is the reason why I was so impressed with Bowie’s performance against Well last week,” McManus said.

“I see a player who is maturing all the time. When it came to service on the day, he didn’t have much to work with.

“It would have been so easy for him to let overeagerness get the better of him when Jordan Obita finally did pick him out with 20 minutes left.

“But there was no hint that he was thinking about moves elsewhere or the need to impress watching scouts as he calmly took a touch before firing high past Calum Ward.

“And for me, that’s a sign of a top player. I truly believe Bowie has what it takes to make it in the English Premier League.”

Rangers should go all out for Bowie

What better way to announce to the rest of the Premiership that Rangers are once again a force to be reckoned with than with the blockbuster signing of Bowie?

The young centre-forward looks destined for a long and successful career that’s full of goals, and so bringing him to Glasgow could set Gers up for many years in attack.

Bowie and Youssef Chermiti could form a deadly duo for many years to come, and their partnership could see Rangers shift the power in Glasgow to the Blue half on a more permanent basis.
