Tam McManus can’t believe ‘incredible’ Celtic development as Rangers get to work
Tam McManus has been impressed by the work Rangers have done in the winter transfer window so far.
Tochi Chukwuani was signed at Ibrox for £4.3million, with the former Sturm Graz midfielder coming in to bolster the engine room.
Danny Rohl will also have Andreas Skov Olsen at his disposal soon, as the Gers have agreed a loan-to-buy deal with VfL Wolfsburg for the Danish winger.
Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises are showing no signs of stopping despite an approximate net spend of £20m in the summer, and that’s something the Govan side’s Old Firm rivals could potentially take note of.
Celtic sleeping at the wheel as Rangers complete January transfers
Celtic’s complacency at the start of the new year seems to have baffled Tam McManus.
The former Hibernian forward has hailed Hearts and the Gers for getting their transfer business done early at Tynecastle Park and Ibrox.
The Hoops have signed Julian Araujo on loan from Bournemouth so far, but it’s safe to say that McManus hasn’t been impressed by their recruitment strategy.
Writing on X on 14 January, McManus said, “Rangers and Hearts getting some great work done already in January, bringing in players to strengthen for a real title push.”
The Scotsman added, “Celtic, yet again, sleeping at the wheel, done nothing so far. The complacency is incredible, and this transfer window is going to decide the league title, in my opinion.”
Tuur Rommens’ move to Ibrox is also likely to be official soon, and with the Westerlo left-back’s arrival, the Glaswegian outfit will have potentially addressed issues in their attack, midfield and defence.
Danny Rohl to seal league title with one more transfer at Ibrox
Danilo is part of Rohl’s transfer shortlist, and the Brazilian striker could be on his way out of the Gers sooner rather than later.
Considering Rangers are open to selling the 26-year-old centre-forward, it would suggest that plans are being put in place to sign a new number nine.
While Youssef Chermiti has slowly started to gain the German manager’s trust, a reliable goalscorer would certainly guarantee the William Hill Premiership title in Govan this season.
The Light Blues are going from strength to strength under Rohl, and exciting times are ahead for fans in G51.
