Rangers star Clinton Nsiala reacts as Rangers thank player in exit announcement

Clinton Nsiala has hardly featured for Rangers this season.

Nsiala joined Rangers on a pre-contract agreement ahead of the 2024-25 season from AC Milan’s youth setup.

However, he has hardly featured since moving to Govan, and Nsiala nearly left Rangers for a move to Belgium in the summer transfer window, yet the move never materialised.

The French centre-back has cut a forlorn figure at times, and he failed to make a single matchday squad under Russell Martin.

Danny Rohl doesn’t value him highly either, and the 21-year-old has now reacted to some transfer news involving a teammate.

Clinton Nsiala reacts to Oscar Cortes loan move

Cortes permanently signed for Rangers in the summer for a £4.5million fee due to a buy obligation in his contract after his initial loan spell from Lens.

However, after playing just 21 times across two years at Ibrox, he was sent out on loan to Sporting Gijon at the start of the season.

That move didn’t work out, and now Argentinian club Huracan confirmed on 13 January that they have signed the 22-year-old on a loan for a £60,000 fee.

They also have the option to purchase 50 per cent of the transfer rights, with three semi-annual purchase options of £1.35m, £1.5m, and £1.65m.

Rangers posted a farewell message to Cortes on Instagram, and Nsiala liked the post.

Cortes will go down as a monumental failure at Rangers, and Nsiala may be looking to leave Ibrox himself.

Clinton Nsiala’s own possible exit destination emerges

With Rangers now firmly in the title race, Rohl can’t afford to rotate his starting lineup for the sake of giving players a chance in the team.

He has been linked with a potential loan to Motherwell, although that hasn’t been officially reported as of yet.

Having left AC Milan with an abundance of potential 18 months ago, his time at Rangers certainly hasn’t gone to plan.

Even when Rohl had to contend with an injury crisis in defence over December, Nsiala hardly featured.

With just 49 minutes of football under his belt in 2025-26, there aren’t many clubs that would take a punt on the French defender.

However, he still could be the next player that Rangers announce is leaving due to his quality on the ball.
