English club table bid for Rangers striker once linked to Manchester United

Rangers signed the highly rated Chris Condy in 2025 but already he is attracting transfer interest.

The Scottish giants have been recovering from a rocky start to the season, which included Rangers sacking manager Russell Martin after just 17 games in charge.

Steven Gerrard was linked with a return to Rangers, but in the end, former Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl headed to Ibrox in late October on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Amid all that commotion, Rangers secured the signing of Condy last September from Hamilton and since then, he has been a revelation.

But the Gers may find it hard to keep hold of their talented teenage striker, who has excelled in the academy, amid escalating transfer links.

Championship side eyes Rangers talent Chris Condy

Before Rangers snapped up Condy this year, he was once linked with Manchester United, Arsenal, Fulham, and Everton.

Now, The Daily Record state that Championship side Derby County have made the first move to sign the teenager.

The newspaper’s online blog says the Rams have “tabled an offer” for the youngster, who has scored more than 20 goals for Rangers’ youth sides this season.

Days after Rangers recruited Tochi Chukuani from Sturm Graz, the Scottish Premiership outfit have a job on their hands to keep Condy, who is also “on the radar of English clubs”.

Rangers reportedly could see him leave for “minimum compensation”, having only joined a few months ago after Hamilton’s academy disbanded last summer.

If they do lose Condy, former Everton scout Bryan King has suggested Rangers could be boosted by the return of former player Nathan Patterson in 2026.

How have Rangers turned their season around?

When Martin was sacked by Rangers in early October, he was given a police escort away from Falkirk’s stadium after a 1-1 draw in the league.

On that day, Gers fans tried to stop the team bus from leaving after mounting criticism and protests amid a poor start to the season.

Back then, they were 11 points adrift of leaders Hearts and were languishing in eighth in the table. Fast forward to the present and their fortunes are much brighter.

Now, they sit three points behind Hearts and are up to second in the division, with their 3-1 win at rivals Celtic a recent highlight.

Rohl has steadied the ship at Rangers and now they are in with a great shout of winning the league title for the first time since 2021.
