David Edgar clarifies Rangers transfer reality as Damir Redzic in demand
Rangers are targeting a move for DAC Dunajska Streda winger Damir Redzic in the winter transfer window.
The 22-year-old has impressed in the Nike Liga, Slovakia’s first tier, scoring seven goals in 14 league appearances this season.
Redzic has been linked with a move to Ibrox, with the likes of RB Salzburg, Copenhagen and Olympiacos also interested in him.
Danny Rohl also wants VfL Wolfsburg winger Andreas Skov Olsen in January, and it remains to be seen whether the Glaswegian outfit can get both deals over the line.
Rangers not pushing for both Damir Redzic and Andreas Skov Olsen
David Edgar has revealed that a move for both Redzic and Skov Olsen may not be on the cards at the Gers.
When one Light Blues season ticket holder misunderstood the Heart & Hand Podcast’s comments on a potential deal for the Hungary international at Ibrox, Edgar set the record straight.
While the Glaswegian outfit have their eyes on the right-winger, the deal is arguably complicated by the fact that he’s currently in demand.
Writing on X on 13 January, when one fan claimed Edgar has said that both Redzic and Skov Olsen are being pursued at pace in Govan, he replied, “Didn’t quite say that, Redzic is a target but has loads of interest.”
Skov Olsen seems to be on his way to Ibrox, with the Light Blues surely confident about signing him after almost agreeing personal terms with him.
It looks like Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises mean business as they are apparently determined to back the German manager in the coming weeks to compete with Hearts in the William Hill Premiership.
Ibrox transfer activity could hide bad news regarding Djeidi Gassama
Djeidi Gassama is attracting interest from the MLS and Europe after a decent campaign in Govan so far.
Rangers have heavily relied on the 22-year-old for creativity up front, with the former Sheffield Wednesday star clearly a key player for Rohl.

While the Glaswegian outfit seem to have no intention of selling the Frenchman, their interest in multiple wingers could potentially mean they’re paving the way for his exit sooner rather than later.
It’s encouraging to see the Gers being proactive and busy in the market, but that may indicate a big-money departure from G51 is on the cards.
