Rangers on verge of second winter transfer as fans told they’re signing Ibrox hero in making
Danny Rohl is finally getting his long-awaited transfer breakthroughs.
After a slow start to the January window, the pressure was building on Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers Enterprises to get deals done.
However, that pressure was lifted when Rangers confirmed the signing of Tochi Chukwuani on Sunday, with the midfielder joining from Sturm Graz for around £4million.
Meanwhile, Andreas Skov Olsen has emerged on Rangers’ transfer radar, with the Wolfsburg winger seemingly keen on a move to Ibrox.

Ex-Rangers coach gives glowing Tuur Rommens review
So, with a central midfielder through the door and a winger seemingly waiting in the wings to join, Rohl is now starting to make some major headway in the market.
However, there is one position in particular that has been viewed by many Rangers fans as being the main priority to strengthen at this month: left-back.
Currently, Rohl only has 19-year-old Brentford loanee Jayden Meghoma as his sole option in that position, and with him returning to his parent club in the summer, the long-term future in that department looks far from stable.
But, Rangers have now made a breakthrough in their pursuit for reinforcements there, with Westerlo’s Tuur Rommens set to sign at Ibrox imminently.
One man who knows him very well is current Westerlo manager Issame Charai, whose name will be familiar to Gers supporters given he was the club’s assistant manager under Philippe Clement.
Charai has made it clear that not only will Rommens be signing for Rangers, \s expected, but he’ll also be an excellent piece of business for them.
Speaking in an interview with Nieuwsblad, Charai said: “It’s already well documented that he’s undergoing a medical ahead of joining.

“Did they (Rangers) contact me? Of course. And no, I didn’t say they had to wait another six months. I’ve always been very honest and transparent and can only say positive things about Tuur. His character is a perfect fit for Rangers.
“A player who is physically strong, gets his shirt wet, doesn’t shy away from duels, and likes to go off the line. The fans will love him, and I expect they’ll soon be singing his praises. It’s simply a perfect match.”
If those are indeed the traits Rommens will bring, he will be an Ibrox hero in no time at all.
Rohl will have to make fascinating Jayden Meghoma/Rommens call
Meghoma may well be Rohl’s only natural left-back option, but that won’t be the case when Rommens signs, and it will present a very interesting team selection dilemma.
Rommens has been excellent for Westerlo ever since his summer 2023 move from Genk, and has established himself as one of the best players in his position in Belgium.
- Rommens has made 79 appearances for Westerlo
- He’s scored one goal and registered nine assists
- Rommens has represented Belgium at Under-21 level eight times, and has also been capped for the Under-19s.
However, he may not hit the ground running in Glasgow, and could require time to adjust to Scottish football.
If he doesn’t though, then dropping Meghoma won’t be a straightforward decision to make, as the teenager has grabbed a goal and four assists in 19 Premiership games this season, and has been putting in some more consistently strong performances in recent weeks.
