Andreas Skov Olsen sends three-word message as Rangers transfer confirmed
Rangers announced the signing of Tochi Chukwuani from Sturm Graz on Sunday.
There was plenty of speculation around Chukwuani’s move to Ibrox, and fairly early on in the window, it seemed like the Bears were bound to land their man.
The Dane will most likely play in the Gers’ next game against Annan Athletic in the Scottish Cup, replacing the injured Connor Barron in squads.
Danny Rohl is after multiple new additions this month, and KVC Westerlo’s Tuur Rommens is set to become his second confirmed transfer as head coach.
However, Rangers have also made a bid to sign Andreas Skov Olsen on loan from Wolfsburg this month, as the winger has only fuelled rumours over a switch to Ibrox.
Andreas Skov Olsen supports Tochi Chukwuani’s move to Rangers
Rangers have been tracking Skov Olsen for years, and even came close to landing the Denmark international during the 2021-22 season.
He joined Wolfsburg this time last year, but has only made 23 appearances for the Bundesliga side, with many coming from the bench.
If Rangers were able to land their man, Rohl would surely work his magic to get the right-winger back to his frightening best.
Andreas Skov Olsen’s record with Club Brugge:
- Games: 124
- Goals: 49
- Assists: 29
Chukuwani shared a post on Instagram following the completion of his transfer to the Bears, as Skov Olsen sparked more gossip over his own potential Rangers move by making an unexpected comment.
Skov Olsen commented: “Congratulations, my friend.”
Rangers fans were quick to reply to the Wolfsburg man’s comment, imploring him to follow in Chukwuani’s footsteps.
Key stat which makes Skov Olsen transfer even more exciting
There’s no doubt that Skov Olsen’s move to Wolfsburg from Club Brugge hasn’t gone the way the winger wanted it to.
For whatever reason, the 26-year-old has failed to establish himself as a regular starter in Germany, but his time in Belgium will encourage the Bears.
Skov Olsen was a proven goal-scorer in the Belgian Pro League and created many chances.
| Player | 2023-24 goal record | 2024-25 goal record |
| Andreas Skov Olsen | 14 goals – 10.2 xG | 8 goals – 5.29 xG |
However, the key stat that impresses is how well the Dane outperformed his expected goal rate for Club Brugge.
Rangers may be landing the sharpshooter that they have needed for so long.
