Chris Sutton calls for action to be taken against Rangers player after new Sky Sports footage

Rangers may have secured a priceless victory over Aberdeen on Sunday, but one moment of madness at full-time has just stolen the headlines.

After Rangers beat Aberdeen 2-0 on Tuesday, Danny Rohl expected his side to follow up that result with another three points, and his players repeated the trick.

Goals in either half from Thelo Aasgaard and James Tavernier moved the Gers three points behind leaders Hearts following their 1-0 win over Dundee in the early kick-off.

The visitors produced a controlling performance at Pittodrie, with Mohamed Diomande winning Man of the Match against The Dons. However, some of the gloss from their performance has been removed by Nicolas Raskin.

Nicolas Raskin sprays water at an Aberdeen fan at full-time

After picking up another huge three points on the road, Rohl would have wanted his players to avoid drama at full-time.

Sadly, that didn’t turn out as planned when Raskin popped out of the tunnel to spray a water bottle at an Aberdeen fan.

The Belgian international was unsurprisingly caught on camera, and could have landed himself in hot water after that moment of madness.

Reacting to the moment live on Sky Sports, former Celtic striker Chris Sutton said: “It happened with Cerny before. You can’t just keep going around spraying water on fans – it’s an absolute no-no. There has to be some sort of punishment, otherwise players will just carry on doing it.”

Sutton wants Raskin to be punished by the Scottish FA for his actions and pointed out that the same thing happened last season when Vaclav Cerny sprayed water at a Celtic fan during their 3-2 Old Firm Derby win in March 2025.

Rangers can’t afford to lose Raskin

Rangers have surged into Scottish Premiership title contention following five successive wins, and Raskin has played a crucial role in their resurgence.

The 24-year-old has dominated in midfield, combining his relentless energy and technical prowess to lead his side’s charge towards first position.

Raskin was exceptional against Aberdeen at Ibrox, and the Belgian produced a similar performance at Pittodrie with eight recoveries, six ground duels won, and defensive contributions.

So, with the title race heating up, Rohl can ill-afford to lose his star midfielder through suspension or any possible caution that comes from this incident.
