Another player starts Rangers medical for transfer as Tochi Chukwuani signing confirmed
Tochi Chukwuani has been announced as Danny Rohl’s first signing, with another new signing close to following.
Chukwuani has joined Rangers in a £4million move from Austrian side Sturm Graz, signing a deal that will last until June 2029.
The 22-year-old helped his former side lift the domestic league title last season and has made 62 appearances in the last 18 months.
The defensive midfielder has won 20 caps for Denmark at youth level and was a teammate of Light Blues star Mohamed Diomande during his time at Danish side FC Nordsjaelland.
But the good news doesn’t stop there for Rangers fans.
Tuur Rommens undergoing Rangers medical
The signing of left-back Tuur Rommens could also be announced very soon by Rangers as he currently undergoes a medical.
Rommens could join Chukwuani at Rangers imminently, with the 22-year-old emerging as a priority at the start of the January transfer window.
The Daily Record reported on Sunday afternoon that Rommens is currently undergoing a medical and he could be announced at any moment.
The Bears will pay his club side Westerlo an initial £2.6m, with another £500,000 due in performance-related add-ons.
The Belgian U21 captain has also agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal that will keep him in Govan until June 2029.
Rangers face Aberdeen on Sunday, and although both players won’t be in action, next week’s Scottish Cup match against Annan Athletic could see them make their debuts.
The Bears aren’t stopping there, and they still need multiple reinforcements that can come straight into the starting lineup.

Who could Rangers sign next after Rommens and Tochi Chukwuani?
Connor Barron suffered a knee injury that could leave him sidelined until March, and Rangers finally have his replacement in Chukwuani.
The number of players that Rohl has unavailable is incredibly frustrating, and that’s why even more players are expected to come in.
Rangers are now linked with Sunderland’s Dan Neil and Romaine Mundle as they aim to mount a title charge in the second half of the season.

Ivory Coast international Parfait Guiagon has been named as an option, while Hibernian striker Kieron Bowie is also being monitored.
Rohl definitely needs his players to have a cutting edge in the final third, and although both the left-back and midfield positions have been reinforced, improvements are needed in attack.
Only time will tell if the Bears can convince their transfer targets to move to Ibrox.
