Aberdeen vs Rangers postponement latest: ‘It is a nightmare’ as SPFL chiefs told to take action
Rangers fans are set for a nightmare trip to Aberdeen on Sunday afternoon.
Storm Goretti has battered the United Kingdom from France this week, with Rangers set to take on Aberdeen at Pittodrie in a backdrop of snow and ice.
Danny Rohl will want to keep his momentum going at Ibrox, with the Bears now back in a very unlikely Scottish Premiership title bid.
Despite Rangers’ trip to Aberdeen being set to go ahead, the SPFL have been told to take the decision out of the club’s hands.
SPFL told to postpone Aberdeen vs Rangers
Scott Burns has shared an image from Aberdeen on social media ahead of the Pittodrie, with snow set to be followed by storm conditions.
The Daily Record journalist has urged the SPFL to stop the game going ahead, saying that fans shouldn’t be asked to travel through this type of weather.
“Storm conditions in Aberdeen on top of recent snow,” he wrote. “It is a nightmare.
“Fans shouldn’t be asked to travel in these conditions, and the SPFL chiefs should be taking the call out of their hands.
“I’m sure Aberdeen vs Rangers will be a good TV spectacle in the current conditions.”
Rangers squad absences grow at Ibrox
Not that he’d admit it, but Rohl would also likely appreciate a rest for his squad.
Connor Barron is now out until March at the earliest, with Dujon Sterling also picking up another injury in the reverse win over Aberdeen on Tuesday.

Add that to the long-term blows of Derek Cornelius and Oliver Antman, and the Bears could do with that added recovery time.
With Nedim Bajrami set to return, and Tochi Chukwuani set to sign for Rangers in the coming hours, things are slowly starting to look up.
