Rangers multi-transfer update emerges after double singing for Danny Rohl
Rangers aren’t expected to stop after signing Tuur Rommens and Tochi Chukwuani in the winter transfer window.
Chukwuani is expected to undergo his medicals in Glasgow, after the Gers agreed a deal worth £4million, excluding add-ons and a sell-on percentage, for the midfielder.
Rommens is also close to being a new face at Ibrox, with the Light Blues paying Westerloo £2.6m plus add-ons to sign the left-back.
Danny Rohl is aiming to overtake Hearts in the William Hill Premiership, and it looks like Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises are ready to put their money where their mouth is.
Rangers want four more signings after Tuur Rommens and Tochi Chukwuani deals
It’s understood that the Gers are looking to potentially sign four more players in January after agreeing deals for Rommens and Chukwuani, according to the Daily Mail.
The news outlet reports on 9 January that the Light Blues’ outlay of around £7m on the Belgian defender and Danish midfielder is unlikely to be the only piece of business at Ibrox.
In the summer, under the guidance of Kevin Thelwell as sporting director, the Glaswegian outfit had an approximate net spend of £20m, but the squad was arguably left in shambles after some underwhelming deals.
There’s an evident need to add more quality to Rohl’s side, and the American owners are expected to do so.
Sunderland’s Dan Neil and Romaine Mundle are also wanted at Ibrox, and exciting times may be ahead for fans in G51, who’ve seen their team turn the tide around after a disastrous start to the season.
Who can follow Tuur Rommens and Tochi Chukwuani at Ibrox?
Rangers are apparently closing in on Neil’s signature, and he may well be part of the host of additions in G51 before Deadline Day.
Fans were initially frustrated that the Gers weren’t being proactive as soon as January started, but it looks like the recruitment team are listening to those frustrations.
| Players | Transfer fee |
| Youssef Chermiti | £8m |
| Oliver Antman | £3.5m |
| Thelo Aasgaard | £3.5m |
| Bojan Miovski | £2.6m |
| Emmanuel Fernandez | £2.5m |
The Light Blues travel to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen again on 11 January after beating them 2-0 in the reverse fixture at Ibrox.
With Scottish Cup and Europa League fixtures in between, the Glaswegian outfit have some time before league action resumes, giving them plenty of time to bed in new signings for the competition that’s undoubtedly their priority.
