Aberdeen vs Rangers postponement latest as Met Office upgrade weather warning

Rangers will need to brave the elements to make the trip to Aberdeen on Sunday.

Rangers take on Aberdeen at Pittodrie for the second time this week, with Danny Rohl’s men winning the reverse fixture 2-0 at Ibrox on Tuesday.

The Met Office placed a yellow weather warning across Scotland for that game, which still went ahead despite tricky travel conditions.

With Storm Goretti really taking hold of the United Kingdom, though, things have gotten worse since, with games across England now being postponed.

Will Aberdeen vs Rangers be postponed?

So far, Rangers‘ trip to Aberdeen will go ahead.

It is one of the longest trips of the Scottish Premiership season, and it could be a real welcome to life in Scotland for new signings.

Tuur Rommens and Tochi Chukwuani are on the verge of signing and could make their debuts at Pittodrie if announced and registered in time.

The Met Office have now upgraded a yellow warning to amber for snow between Glasgow and Inverness on Sunday, covering most of the travel routes.

Travel delays are likely, with railway and air travel cancellations very possible.

Rangers are three points ahead of Celtic, and only three behind Hearts in the Scottish Premiership, with another win pushing them towards an unlikely title bid.

What happened in Rangers 2-0 Aberdeen?

Rangers were somewhat open at the back as usual, but they dominated large spells and got the two all-important goals for three points.

Emmanuel Fernandez is on fire at Ibrox, and he scored once again from a set-piece to open the scoring.

Minutes later, Nicolas Raskin did exactly the same, beating his man at the near post to score another trademark header from a second Connor Barron delivery.

Barron is now out injured until at least March, with a deal to sign Chukwuani from Sturm Graz being fast-tracked after the crushing news.

It is still unknown if the Danish maestro will feature at Pittodrie, but time is ticking to get a deal over the line and registered for that to happen.

For now, the reverse fixture will go ahead, but constantly check those weather updates.
