Rangers talks initiated by fellow Scottish club as multiple exits possible

Danny Rohl is close to getting his first senior signings as Rangers boss, but Ibrox exits will also have to be carefully sanctioned this month.

Rangers are closing in on the signing of Tochi Chukwuani and Tuur Rommens, with the pair said to be coming to Glasgow for a combined fee of £7million.

Rohl has asked Andrew Cavenagh to sign specific targets in January, but the German head coach understands that exits will also be required to balance the books.

But in some cases, departures are for the best, particularly when it comes to youth prospects gaining valuable minutes away from Rangers.

Dougie Imrie hopes to land more Rangers talents at Raith Rovers

Rangers have a talented youth setup, and many argue that it’s not always utilised efficiently.

The Bears managed to strike a co-operation agreement with Scottish Championship side Raith Rovers back in August, which could change the picture when it comes to the development of young stars.

Raith Rovers manager Dougie Imrie now wants to do more business with Rangers, confirming his side have already made initial enquiries over some youngsters.

Imrie said, as quoted by The Courier on Friday: “Obviously, there are players that you would take, but it has to be a two-way thing.

“We want them, but we also need Rangers to want to give us them. We’ve enquired about certain individuals, and nothing’s come back yet. So, we’ll keep pursuing and see what happens.”

If the Bears pick up the phone, there will undoubtedly be several players who would tickle the fancy of Imrie and Raith Rovers.

Rangers youth stars who could join Raith Rovers this month

Findlay Curtis is a talented prospect at Auchenhowie and has raised eyebrows with promising cameos at Ibrox this season.

However, Rohl’s arrival has seen Mikey Moore play more at the expense of Curtis, with the latter still eligible for an easy loan move to Raith Rovers.

He, along with Thompson Ishaka, could be two who leave for game time under Imrie, as the Scottish Championship is a league that can mould Rangers stars into ready first-team players.

Bailey Rice is another who could have benefited from this system, but with his future at Rangers up in the air, it seems more likely that a permanent deal could be on the cards.
