Rangers face final hurdle to complete £4m Tochi Chukwuani transfer for Danny Rohl

Sturm Graz midfielder Tochi Chukwuani has left Spain and is on his way to Glasgow to sign for Rangers.

The Admiral Bundesliga club are in Andalusia for their training camp, but the midfielder has already left after arriving in Marbella on 7 January.

Chukwuani is being heavily linked with a move to Ibrox, and it looks like the Gers are close to completing a deal for the Denmark Under-21 international.

Danny Rohl has suffered a massive blow with Connor Barron’s injury, and now arguably can’t wait for the 22-year-old’s arrival from Sturm Graz.

Rangers medical final hurdle for Tochi Chukwuani signing

Chukwuani’s fitness test will likely be the “final hurdle” to completing his move to the Gers, according to Krone.

The news outlet reports on 9 January that a fee of around £4million is being discussed at Ibrox to buy the midfielder, who has played 20 times for Denmark’s Under-21 side.

It’s been claimed that Chukwuani wasn’t part of Sturm Graz’s training and is apparently on a flight to Scotland.

Rohl has prioritised getting a number six at Ibrox, and it looks like the German manager is finally going to get his wish.

Chukwuani has made 26 appearances for the Austrian outfit in all competitions this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

How close is Tuur Rommens to Ibrox move?

Westerlo left-back Tuur Rommens is also wanted at Ibrox, with the Belgian defender undergoing his medical on 8 January.

It feels like a matter of time before Rangers announce their first January addition, and the imminent arrival of Chukwuani may follow it.
