Rangers agree multi-million fee to sign new playmaker for Danny Rohl after Tuur Rommens

Rangers have finally kick-started their January transfer window with a bang.

Danny Rohl was guaranteed to sign a left-back and a midfielder before the 2 February deadline, and he looks on course to do that in the second week of the window.

Westerlo have accepted a £3million offer for Tuur Rommens, with the defender on his way to Ibrox from Belgium to create competition at left-back, finally.

Rohl wants more, though, and looks set to unveil his new playmaker alongside him.

Rangers agree Tochi Chukwuani transfer

Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers are throwing their weight around in transfer fees yet again, with Tochi Chukwuani also on his way.

Rangers are said to have agreed upon a £4million fee to sign Chukwuani from Sturm Graz, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper describes Chukwuani as a “Danish playmaker”, and he is expected in Glasgow in the next 24 hours.

It is said that both Rommens and Chukwuani will sign long-term contracts in Govan and could be available to make their debuts at Aberdeen on Sunday.

Rohl is said to have had the duo as his priorities this month.

Tochi Chukwuani to kickstart Rangers clearout

Chukwuani has tonnes of experience on his shoulders for such a young midfielder, and is certainly destined for the Danish national team.

The midfielder actually played 90 minutes as Sturm Graz beat Rangers earlier in the season, and he dominated defensively.

Chukwuani made an impressive 11 recoveries and won seven of his 12 duels in total against the likes of Nicolas Raskin, via Sofascore.

With a new midfielder finally coming in, Joe Rothwell will be first out of the door at Ibrox.

Rangers are recovering from a disastrous summer in the transfer window, but with Chukwuani and Rommens coming through the door, a new era is certainly starting.
