Danny Rohl’s latest target will baffle Connor Barron after terrific Rangers exploits

Connor Barron has simply been one of the biggest revelations at Ibrox since Danny Rohl’s Rangers arrival.

Rangers beat Aberdeen 2-0 at home in the Scottish Premiership on Tuesday, and Barron was once again a standout for Rohl.

The 23-year-old grabbed two assists in the win, commanding the middle of the park, and has come a long way from his poor displays last season.

Barron has been gradually improving in recent weeks, and the scary part is that he is far from reaching his peak form.

The midfielder now seems a mainstay in Rohl‘s starting lineups, but the latest Rangers transfer link may confuse Barron and many others.

Why are Rangers targeting Tochi Chukwuani?

Rangers have been linked with a move for Tochi Chukwuani, a defensive midfielder who plays for Austrian side Sturm Graz.

Chukwuani‘s potential move to Ibrox this month would see the Dane provide Barron with competition for a starting spot, which may leave the latter questioning what more he can do to convince.

Barron was criticised last season, and many questioned whether the Scot was up to the level required for Rangers.

As highlighted by Sofascore, the former Aberdeen man proved why the Gers don’t need another midfielder with his terrific performance against his old side.

If Barron isn’t the man to be concerned about, then the interest in Chukwuani may be telling for another star’s future in Glasgow.

Nicolas Raskin’s Rangers future still not cemented

Nicolas Raskin was touted for a Rangers exit in the early stages of the summer, and after falling out with the Bears’ previous manager, Russell Martin, a departure looked inevitable.

Although speculation has died down, Raskin is still being monitored by multiple clubs, who will be paying attention to the Belgian’s situation at Ibrox.

There’s no guarantee that Raskin will stay beyond the January market, as Chukwuani could be his replacement. Alternatively, Mohamed Diomande may be another whose future at Rangers could be coming to an end.

Chukwuani’s potential arrival could cause a domino effect for the Bears, and Rohl needs to be careful with what he wishes for.
