Tom English blown away by Danny Rohl and Rangers after new BBC screenshot – ‘Incredible’
Danny Rohl has got Rangers right back in the Scottish Premiership title race.
Rangers beat Aberdeen 2-0 on Tuesday night at Ibrox, a win that moved them to within three points of the leaders Hearts.
As such, Rohl is being hailed as the mastermind behind Rangers‘ turnaround, after the Russell Martin experience threatened to lay the foundations for one of the Gers’ worst top-flight seasons.
However, with that nightmare over and with a first league title in reach since 2020-21, Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers Enterprises are expected to back Rohl in the transfer market this month.
Tom English lauds Danny Rohl for Rangers work
Having now won four games on the bounce, focus has been called for in the Rangers camp, as they could quickly fall out of contention once again should complacency set in.
There will be question marks over whether Rohl can ensure that doesn’t happen too, as it can be easy to forget the German coach is still just 36 years of age.
But, with his experience at Sheffield Wednesday under his belt and an evident maturity beyond his years, that doesn’t seem likely to become a problem for Rangers under his watch.
Posting via X alongside a screenshot of the current Scottish Premiership table from BBC Sports, Tom English has also heaped praise on Rohl, recognising the challenges he’s had to face whilst still being able to improve the team as quickly as he has done.
“Danny Rohl is doing a hell of a job at Rangers – 32 points from a possible 39 with a team that still has numerous issues,” English said.
“They were a laughing stock not long ago. This title run-in should be incredible. What a season.”

Rohl has massively improved Rangers at both ends of the pitch
In his first 18 games in charge of Rangers in all competitions, Rohl’s side have scored 27 goals and conceded 19.
Compare that to Martin’s 17 matches as Gers boss, his team scored just 21 goals and conceded 24 times, meaning Rohl’s Rangers have scored six more goals and conceded five fewer than Martin’s in just one game more.
- Rohl has won 10, drawn three and lost five of his first 18 Rangers games
- He’s currently sitting on a win percentage of 56
- Rangers have won their last four league games by an aggregate score of 8-2
The turnaround has been remarkable, with Rohl now getting far more out of players such as Youssef Chermiti, Thelo Aasgaard, Mikey Moore and Emmanuel Fernandez than Martin was able to.
Is that enough to secure the Scottish Premiership title again? Time will tell.
