Mikey Moore exit: Tottenham recall update emerges after Rangers heroics vs Celtic
Rangers will have fears that Tottenham could recall Mikey Moore in January.
Moore joined Rangers on loan from Spurs in the summer and has begun to show his talents since the introduction of Danny Rohl.
The Govan faithful have gotten behind Moore, who has been key to Rangers’ upturn under the German head coach.
The 18-year-old started and scored as Rangers secured a 3-1 win against Celtic in the Old Firm, cementing his status as a fan favourite at Ibrox.
Thomas Frank is likely to have an eye on Moore and his progress, something which could end with a North London return this winter.
Tottenham could recall Mikey Moore from Rangers loan
Moore did have an injury scare at Rangers a few weeks ago, but hasn’t shown any signs of fatigue in recent weeks.
The teen grabbed his first goal in five games at Parkhead as he helped to put in a positive shift, particularly after the interval.
Wilfried Nancy’s side were poor in the second half, and the Gers took advantage, with the young winger playing his part.
Tottenham are bound to have taken notice of his recent performances, especially after letting Brennan Johnson go to Crystal Palace last week.
Former Tottenham scout Bryan King could see Moore returning to the Premier League as Frank and Co. assess their options in January.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, King said: “Celtic were poor, very poor. I would just leave Moore there until the summer, to be honest.
“He’s alright, he’s guaranteed to start games at Rangers, and he’s not guaranteed to start games for Tottenham, although I don’t know who is at Tottenham right now.
“They’ve just got rid of Johnson, there’s a place for someone like Moore, who plays in a similar role.
“Maybe they’ll look at that now that the deal has been done and bring him back.
“I still don’t think he’s the solution to Tottenham’s problems. If they are going to bring anyone in to replace Johnson, it will be Moore.“
Tottenham could damage Moore progress with recall
The 18-year-old struggled in the early stages of his Govan term, but has finally begun to come into his own under Rohl.
Moore has managed to navigate the mess of Russell Martin, Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart to finally find some stability in the Scottish Premiership.
To throw him back into a basket case situation like Tottenham find themselves in right now could prove to be hugely detrimental to his young career.
The Lilywhites have been woeful at times this season and look destined for a frustrating second half of the season, with fans growing in annoyance.
The atmosphere around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is growing more and more toxic by the week, so Rangers losing Moore could prove damaging for everyone involved.
