Hugh Keevins demands Celtic ‘obligation’ as Danny Rohl achieves six-year first at Rangers
Celtic have plunged further into dismay under Wilfried Nancy after losing 3-1 to Rangers in the William Hill Premiership on Saturday.
Danny Rohl’s team turned things around at Parkhead, with the Gers completing a second-half comeback in G40.
Nancy can’t continue to be Celtic manager after losing six of his first eight games in charge since replacing Martin O’Neill.
With the German manager now taking the Light Blues level on points with their Old Firm rivals, the former Columbus Crew boss’ sacking seems inevitable.
Danny Rohl matches Steven Gerrard record in Celtic vs Rangers
Rohl became the first permanent manager since Steven Gerrard in 2020 to beat Celtic away from home.
With Nancy failing in the Old Firm derby, Hugh Keevins believes the hierarchy at Parkhead has a “moral obligation” in G40 and should get rid of the French manager.
While the mood around Ibrox has turned around since Russell Martin’s departure, the same can’t be said about the other historic club in Glasgow, who have undoubtedly made a mistake by appointing Nancy.
Writing in the Daily Record on 4 January, Keevins said, “He has lost any entitlement to remain as the manager, and his employers have a moral obligation to protect the business they are running by terminating his contract.”
Rohl has outdone Martin at Ibrox, with the Gers winning the most points in the league since the German manager’s arrival.
While the 2-0 loss to Hearts at Tynecastle Park was a downer for fans in G51, they will once again have the belief of winning the title this season.

Mikey Moore subsequently got the third, sealing the three points for the Gers in the Old Firm derby.
The struggles of every number nine have been evident at Ibrox this season, but with the former Everton centre-forward finally living up to expectations in G51, the need for attacking reinforcements may not be a priority for Rohl in the coming weeks.
