Rangers shock to emerge in double transfer reveal for Danny Rohl at Ibrox
Kevin Thomson wants to see Rangers sign a new defender and forward in the winter transfer window.
Andrew Cavenagh is expected to back Danny Rohl in January, with the German manager evidently in need of more quality at the Gers.
With Bojan Miovski and Youssef Chermiti struggling at Ibrox, it would make sense for the Light Blues to invest in a new number nine in the coming weeks.
Derek Cornelius’ injury also makes things complicated for the former Sheffield Wednesday boss at the Glaswegian outfit, and a new centre-back should be on their agenda.

Rangers have to sign a new striker in January
Thomson would be baffled to see the Gers not sign a new striker at the turn of the year.
While the former Light Blues midfielder expects reinforcements up front at Ibrox, he wonders whether the recruitment department will want to spend more funds on a new attacker.
The Glaswegian outfit spent over £10million to get Miovski and Chermiti in the summer, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for them.
Speaking on The Breakdown with Charlie Mulgrew on 29 December, Thomson said, “To me, they’ve got to go in the market for a centre-back. I would be really surprised and shocked if they don’t spend money on a striker.”
The Scotsman added, “But they’ve spent £8m on one. So do the recruitment team look at that and say, ‘Listen, where’s the scope to manipulate?’ You can’t just spend all your money on the front end of the pitch.”
While the Ibrox hierarchy are open to cutting their losses on Chermiti, they need to ensure the next signing up top hits the ground running.
Danny Rohl transfer demand makes sense after what’s happened at Ibrox
Rohl wants to reunite with Wrexham attacker Josh Windass at the Gers, with the 31-year-old a reliable goalscorer for the German manager at Sheffield Wednesday.
The former Rangers star was a creative force for the 36-year-old head coach in South Yorkshire last season, and it’s clear to see why he’s wanted at Ibrox.

While the Light Blues have lost just one of their last 10 games in the William Hill Premiership, most of their performances have been hard to watch.
There seems to be a lack of attacking urgency at the Glaswegian outfit due to a dearth of quality up front, and Rohl should definitely look to bolster his squad sooner rather than later.
