Barry Ferguson spot on with Lyall Cameron verdict as exit now on cards at Rangers
Barry Ferguson is a big fan of Rangers star Lyall Cameron.
Andrew Cavenagh has hired Stig Inge Bjornebye at Ibrox, with the football consultant set to advise on Rangers’ recruitment strategy in the January transfer window.
Cameron has huge potential to be a top player for Rangers, but he is not getting much first-team action under Danny Rohl.
Despite only joining the Bears from Dundee in the summer, Cameron has been attracting interest in recent months, and a loan move could potentially help him get some much-needed minutes.
Ferguson spoke about how much he values the 23-year-old and told him that he should only to join a competitive side if he is to leave in January.

Lyall Cameron must join an ambitious team if he is to leave on loan
A January loan move looks to be the most likely option for Cameron, having only started two of Rangers’ 18 Scottish Premiership games.
Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show Podcast on 29 December, Ferguson was full of praise for Cameron and advised him on where he should go out on loan.
He said: “I think they’re looking at getting him some experience. I quite like Cameron, he’s lively, he’s good on the ball, and he’s a fiery wee character.

“If he goes out on loan, it has to be to a club where he’s going to be under pressure to win. It’s pointless for him to play 10 or 15 at a team, and it doesn’t matter if they get beat.”
Of course, it’s much easier said than done, and there are very few clubs that Cameron could go to that would place the same demands on him.
He has played 10 matches in a Rangers shirt, with his only goal coming in the 2-1 defeat to Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League qualifiers on 12 August.
Findlay Curtis is another youngster who hasn’t been able to play regularly in the first team despite excelling when given the chance, and it highlights a wider problem at Ibrox.

Rangers’ treatment of Lyall Cameron and Findlay Curtis has been concerning
Cameron was one of the breakout stars in the Scottish Premiership last season, and his spell in Govan has definitely been stunted by his injuries.
However, the attacking midfielder has still been overlooked for players who have failed to produce any bit of quality since arriving at G51.
Curtis has featured slightly more, making 16 appearances and scoring three goals, although fans are still left wondering why he has been snubbed for the likes of Thelo Aasgaard and Oliver Antman.
When you add Bailey Rice to the equation, a 19-year-old player with bags of talent who could be allowed to leave on a free transfer at the end of the campaign, it doesn’t make for good reading.
Rangers used to pride themselves on bringing through some of the best talents Scotland had to offer.
However, in this new era under the 49ers, that seems to be the very last thing on their mind.
