Keith Hackett reacts to footage of Rangers penalty controversy vs Motherwell
Motherwell were furious that they were not awarded a penalty in their 1-0 defeat to Rangers.
Thelo Aasgaard scored the only goal as Rangers took three points, but there was a controversial call late in the contest.
Lukas Fadinger found his way into the Gers box and appeared to be tripped by Emmanuel Fernandez in second-half stoppage time.
However, referee David Dickinson did not award a spot kick and VAR agreed with that decision, leaving Jens Berthel Askou’s side raging as they came away from Ibrox with nothing.

Keith Hackett claims Rangers got away with one
Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett believes that the Well should have been awarded a penalty, and that the Gers got away with one.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, he said: “The referee has to ask himself the following questions.
“Did the defender stick out his leg to trip the forward, or did the attacker manufacture contact with the defender and go to ground?
“This incident certainly required VAR intervention to give the opportunity for the referee to review his non-penalty kick decision.
“Motherwell can feel disappointed that they were not awarded a penalty kick.“

Rangers finally get a call go their way
The Light Blues have had several calls go against them this season, so it will be a relief to Danny Rohl that the decision went their way for once in the clash at Ibrox.
For example, Celtic defender Austin Trusty was not sent off in the Old Firm clash in November despite endangering the safety of Jack Butland, in a highly controversial decision.
Another incident which caused fury was the disallowed goal against Hearts last week, with Bojan Miovski ruled to be offside as he put the ball in the net against the league leaders, and the Gers succumbed to a 2-1 defeat.
So it is about time that something went the G51 side’s way, and they will want to put the incident behind them and move on.
Rohl needs his side to continue to grab victories in the second half of the campaign, and he cannot get bogged down with referees and what they do or do not give.
