Alfredo Morelos to Rangers transfer claim emerges after £5m development
Rangers would surely be linked with Santos striker Alfredo Morelos if he were available on a free transfer.
The 29-year-old has spent the last 18 months on loan at Atletico Nacional in Colombia, who want to sign him permanently.
Morelos was a controversial figure at Ibrox, with some of his antics overshadowing his goalscoring ability in G51.
With Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski struggling right now, the Glaswegian outfit have been linked with bolstering their attack, and the Colombia international’s return will undoubtedly be on some fans’ minds.

Santos want £5m for former Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos
While Atletico Nacional want to sign Morelos, Santos have put a £5million price tag on his head.
With the Gers evidently in desperate need of a reliable number nine, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him being linked with a move to Ibrox, but that feels a bit out of reach due to the finances involved.
The Colombian striker spent six years at the Light Blues, scoring 124 goals in 269 appearances, winning the league title and the Challenge Cup.
The Daily Record states on 28 December: “Were he available for free, then the inevitable ‘what if’ swirls about a return to Rangers would undoubtedly have hit the airwaves by now — considering Rohl’s desperate need for a new striker next month. But if it’s going to take £5m, or anything close to it, then that rules the 29-year-old out.”
Ibrox News understands Chermiti is attracting interest from Braga, and it would make sense for the Glaswegian outfit to be ruthless about his departure.
The Portugal Under-21 international cost a significant sum in Govan, but it doesn’t look like he’ll ever live up to expectations.

Danny Rohl gets transfer priority all wrong at Ibrox
Rohl wants a new number six at Ibrox, with the addition of a new midfielder being prioritised at the Gers.
It’s clear that Rangers are struggling to find the back of the net due to Chermiti, Miovski and Danilo’s ineptitude up front.
| Player | Matches played | Goals |
| James Tavernier | 32 | 7 |
| Djeidi Gassama | 31 | 6 |
| Bojan Miovski | 21 | 5 |
| Findlay Curtis | 15 | 3 |
| Danilo | 24 | 3 |
| Emmanuel Fernandez | 12 | 3 |
Connor Barron and Nicolas Raskin have formed a decent partnership in the middle of the park, with their attributes complementing each other.
A number six should definitely be on the Light Blues’ agenda, but it can’t be a priority over a new striker.
