49ers now have perfect chance to make Danny Rohl’s dream come true with January transfer
Danny Rohl wants Rangers to sign Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Pierce Charles in January.
Rohl has reportedly asked Rangers’ recruitment chiefs to compile a dossier on Charles’ performances for his former club this season.
Rohl is understood to view Charles as the long-term replacement for Jack Butland, with the 32-year-old not having many years left at the top level.
The Owls may be forced to sell the eight-cap Northern Ireland international due to the financial difficulties that they have at the moment.

Rangers could pounce to seal Charles deal for Rohl
The 49ers Enterprises Group and Andrew Cavenagh can make Rohl’s dream come true within a matter of weeks and bring Charles to Govan.
Alan Nixon reported via his Patreon on 28 December that the crisis-stricken Championship outfit may have to sell the 20-year-old by the end of the winter window.

He stated that if their takeover is not completed before the January window, then one or two players will have to be sold to keep the club running.
49ers have to do more than just sign Charles
While Charles is one of the most promising young stoppers in the game, and would be a huge coup for the Light Blues, he cannot be their only business.
Rohl’s side is short in several positions, such as striker and left-back, and they need multiple recruits when the window reopens, not just a goalkeeper that may not even start.
It has been a dismal season so far, with several summer additions failing to impress, and the ownership needs to put their new manager in a position to succeed in the second half of the campaign.
Signing Charles would help for the future, but he may not even get the nod over Butland right now, given the Englishman’s vast experience, especially in Scottish football.
However, he would be a brilliant addition for the future, and they should definitely try to take advantage of the Yorkshire outfit’s issues.
He cannot be the only signing, though, and Rohl needs several players who can come in and make an immediate impact in the Scottish Premiership.
