Nicolas Raskin transfer reality emerges at Rangers after £13m development

Besiktas may not be able to afford Nicolas Raskin from Rangers in the winter transfer window.

The Super Lig club have the midfielder on their radar, but they could face a challenge in negotiations with the Gers.

Besiktas were claimed to have devised a plan to sign Raskin by offering the Belgium international a hefty pay package to convince him.

Danny Rohl is expected to be backed by Andrew Cavenagh in January, and it wouldn’t make sense for the Glaswegian outfit to sell one of their best players midway through the season.

Besiktas have made Nicolas Raskin a priority but Rangers price tag too much

Besiktas are hoping to reinforce their midfield in the coming weeks, with Raskin one of their targets, according to Sabah.

The news outlet reports on 25 December that while the Istanbul club have their eyes on the Belgian ace, the asking price of around £13million at Ibrox makes him difficult to acquire.

Raskin is a valuable asset for Rohl, and the Light Blues could potentially sell him for a hefty profit to reinvest in their squad.

With the Europa League and the William Hill Premiership out of the Glaswegian outfit’s hands, they should start planning for next season immediately.

The Belgium international hasn’t really been at his best this season, and it would make sense for the German manager to start with a clean slate ahead of the upcoming campaign.

With the midfielder’s contract expiring in 2028, the Gers don’t have long left to get the best value for him.

Danny Rohl already has two replacements lined up for Nicolas Raskin

Rangers want Tromso midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl, and the Norway Under-21 international seems like the perfect replacement for Raskin due to his quality on the ball and physicality.

The 20-year-old has made a name for himself as one of the biggest prospects in Eliteserien, but only time will tell whether the Gers will sign him.

Pau midfielder Daylam Meddah is also a target at Ibrox, with the 23-year-old Frenchman also going from strength to strength this season.

With Raskin’s exit in the coming months inevitable, it makes sense for the Glaswegian outfit to plan for a future without him.
