Josh Windass open to Rangers transfer as Wrexham midfielder breaks silence with 11-word message
Wrexham attacking-midfielder Josh Windass seems keen to reunite with Danny Rohl at Rangers in the winter transfer window.
The 31-year-old spent two years at the Gers between 2016 and 2018 and played under the German manager during their time together at Sheffield Wednesday.
Windass has been linked with a return to Ibrox, but the EFL Championship club has knocked back the Light Blues’ initial loan deal.
Andrew Cavenagh is expected to back Rohl in January, but it remains to be seen whether the Glaswegian outfit are willing to spend big on the English attacker.

Josh Windass shares cryptic message amid Rangers and Wrexham standoff
Windass is not opposed to talks with the Gers, as Rohl is keen on his signing, according to the Mirror.
The news outlet reports in its print edition on 24 December that Y Dreigiau have no intention of selling the forward whom they signed for free in the summer.
It’s been claimed that a permanent move for the attacker may not be on the cards for the Light Blues, considering his significant pay package.
Taking to Instagram on 23 December, the Englishman posted an 11-word message that said: “People who don’t understand your silence will never understand your words.”

Dean Windass also reacted to Josh’s links to Ibrox, captioning a report claiming an official approach had been made from the Govan side with a shrug and a football emoji.
The situation around the attacking star, who’s scored six goals and provided three assists for Wrexham this season, will be worth watching closely in G51.
Danny Rohl already has say on Josh Windass
A significant offer from Ibrox may be required for Windass, with the EFL Championship outfit not really looking to part ways with him.
Rangers have been crying out for a reliable goalscorer and creative outlet this season, and the Englishman may be able to reinvigorate the attack in Govan.
Speaking about the forward in April 2024, Rohl said: “For Josh, the last weeks were not easy, a big injury and [fitness problems] again and again. But I said to him that he also has to take responsibility. If you want to be a good player and a strong leader on the pitch, you have to show up. It makes no sense just to talk. He fought for every inch; he showed his quality.”
The German manager knows all about Windass and what he can bring to the Glaswegian outfit, but now it’s up to the powers that be to figure out the most feasible deal for him at Ibrox.
