Danny Rohl will be furious after Nasser Djiga developments over 2000 miles away from Rangers
Nasser Djiga is currently away from Rangers, taking part in the Africa Cup of Nations with Burkina Faso.
Rangers have a centre-back crisis, with John Souttar and Derek Cornelius still sidelined by injuries, so Djiga is a huge miss.
Danny Rohl has been forced to utilise Emmanuel Fernandez, and throw James Tavernier and Dujon Sterling into central roles.
That makes what happened on 24 December, over 2000 miles away, even harder to stomach for Rohl.

Djiga snubbed for AFCON opener away from Rangers
Djiga linked up with his country after Rangers’ 1-0 win over Hibernian, but he did not feature in their opening match of the tournament in Morocco.
Burkina Faso secured a dramatic 2-1 win over Equatorial Guinea, with two goals in second-half stoppage time, but the Gers man did not take part.
He remained on the bench for the contest, being snubbed by Brama Traoe Traore, in favour of Issoufou Dayo and Edmond Tapsoba.
Rohl will be livid after what has happened with Djiga
If he was not going to get played, Rohl may wonder what the point in taking Djiga was, especially at such a critical time in the Light Blues’ season.
The former Sheffield Wednesday manager could have used the Wolves loanee in his squad, with the problems that he has right now in the centre-back department.
Djiga had finally looked like the type of player that the Gers thought they were signing, after a shaky start to his career in Scotland, before he joined the national squad.
- Djiga has played 24 times for the Gers since joining on loan from the Premier League outfit
- He had become a regular under Rohl, after playing a bit-part role under Russell Martin
- The defender had started to change impressions about his Light Blues tenure so far
He was a better option than Fernandez, or having Tavernier or Sterling deputising in the position, and Rohl will surely be keeping a close eye on developments as the tournament continues.
He could have done with the 23-year-old being back at Auchenhowie, and will likely be livid that he cannot use him, if he is not going to be used by his country.
