Bojan Miovski must take accountability amid appalling Rangers reveal vs Hearts
Bojan Miovski’s impressive form came to an end during Rangers’ 2-1 loss to Hearts on Sunday.
Having moved from Spanish side Girona for a fee that could rise to £4.2million, there was huge optimism that he could replicate his goalscoring exploits at Aberdeen between 2022 and 2024.
After a slow start to life in Govan, Miovski scored three goals in two games against Ferencvaros and Kilmarnock to give fans some hope that he can become a success.
Danny Rohl initially placed little faith in Miovski, awarding him just two starts in all competitions since his arrival on 22 October, but he was given the nod to lead the line alongside Mikey Moore at Tynecastle after his recent form in front of goal.
While it shouldn’t be expected that he scores every game, his disastrous performance against Hearts showcased how much of a problem he can be off the ball.

Bojan Miovski was completely bullied by Hearts’ centre-backs
Stuart Findlay and Lawrence Shankland put Hearts 2-0, and Youssef Chermiti’s consolation goal wasn’t enough to stop the hosts going 12 points clear of the Bears in the Scottish Premiership table.
Miovski was subbed off in the 74th minute after an ineffective performance up front.
The North Macedonia international won zero per cent of his ground duels, while winning just 2/11 aerial duels (18%) against Hearts.
| Season | Team | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| 2022-23 | Aberdeen | 42 | 18 | 3 |
| 2023-24 | Aberdeen | 53 | 26 | 4 |
| 2024-25 | Girona | 23 | 4 | 1 |
| 2025-26 | Rangers | 21 | 5 | 1 |
He also completed just 11 passes in the match, and had 20 touches of the ball, as centre-backs Findlay and Frankie Kent dealt with easily.
Miovski is 189cm tall, and for a striker of his stature, those numbers make for appalling reading.
Danny Rohl has a lot of issues to address at Ibrox, and he needs to be able to count on his starting striker for the big games if Rangers want to make any progress.

It was Chermiti who got the goal Rangers craved, and although it came too late, perhaps it could be a sign of better things to come for the Portuguese striker.
Youssef Chermiti sends message to Danny Rohl with goal vs Hearts
Chermiti’s £10million move to Rangers has been heavily criticised, and the striker managed to score just his second goal against Hearts.
Similarly to Miovski, he has often gone missing in big games, and has proved to be a problem when Rangers are in possession.
However, his composed finish has shown that despite lacking confidence, he can be clinical in the right circumstances.
With huge games coming thick and fast over the festive period, Chermiti may be given a chance to start ahead of Miovski, given the latter’s display on Sunday.
Rohl now faces another dilemma ahead of next Saturday’s clash against Motherwell.
